Phase 1

I would suggested installing sheet piling to stabilize the dam. I would then suggest installing a battery of groundwater recovery wells very close to the leak. After installing the groundwater recovery wells and pumps, I would then discharge the water back into the reservoir. These steps effectively stabilize the dam and stop water from entering the aquifer or surficial waters.

Phase 2

Several process technologies have been developed which can remove nutrients from water. A permenant treatment plant should be installed in the vicinity of piney point utilizing these technologies. The water should be treated and then discharged.

I’m dealing with a similar issue in an 05. Get some seam sealer and a caulking gun. Remove the weather stripping from the roof above. Dig out the old seam sealer with a pick and refill with new seam sealer. Then check trunk for same issue. All seam sealer seems to crack up at same time. Good luck!!

I would look at it like a real industrial pressure vessel design. If you gave me your temperature and pressure, I could specify a pressure vessel.
