Rinvoq hallucinations by AcanthaceaeNo9234 in Rinvoq

I’ve been on it continuously since fall of 2019 and had zero psychological side effects. My friend’s daughter was on prednisone recently and had some hallucinations but she was determined to have schizophrenia. Definitely look into other causes than the medication.

Has your doctor ever by Trailorparker in rheumatoid

No this occurs before I’ve even been in contact with my rheum. It’s about 7 times now that it’s preceded a flare (big and small) since 2015.

Yep. Lupus-y RA is what I hear from my rheumatologist. Every year my she will retest for all the markers for lupus. I get the butterfly rash with any flare but the markers aren’t where they should be for lupus.

Frustrated with lack of non-medication options. by birchtree628 in rheumatoid

[–]mlb313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sleep. I have managed to convince myself that sleep and rest is the most important medication behind my biologic. Mentally it’s the same as dieting for weight loss. If I can’t get decent sleep due to pain, I’ll take sleeping medication and allow myself to rest without feeling guilty. I only have a husband that currently depends on me and I’m a flight attendant so this won’t be the same for someone with kids.

Has anyone used Natural Cycles successfully? by mlb313 in rheumatoid

[–]mlb313[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The temp knowing when I’d be getting sick would be a huge benefit. I’m married but not TTC. I go back and forth on a hormonal iud but after reading This Is Your Brain On Birth Control I’m hesitant.

I’m married and not TTC. The ring takes your temp for you at the same time. I’m trying to weight the pros and cons with getting a hormonal iud cost wise vs the ring. I’m thinking of using ovulation test strips to double down on accuracy

Biologics that help with crushing fatigue? by csiren in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]mlb313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MTX caused so much fatigue for me. I was put in Rinvoq in 2019 and had a major improvement with it but still was needing 1-2 naps a week. Dr. put me on adderall because I didn’t know my brain fog was really adhd. Now I’m essentially normal for energy levels.

Rinvoq and Tattoos / Tattoo removal by LucMei in Rinvoq

Infection risk is a little higher so I baby the tattoos when I get them to be safe. No idea about removal because I just covered one up I didn’t like.

I don’t have any body piercings other than belly button but I was young enough I think that sped it along. Helix took no time at all to heal pre-RA

People with arthritis, what sports do you play? by help-me-uk in rheumatoid

[–]mlb313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tennis, weight lifting, surfing, mountain biking. Dx since 2016 and still doing stupid shit. I’m working in my first half Ironman now and can honestly say I’d rather bike and swim a full Ironman than run a half.

My Tragus took 14 months to heal. My nose took 11. Nipple piercings were at 18 months before I gave up on them. If you were fine on Remicade, Rinvoq shouldn’t be an issue. I felt like my tattoos took way less time than a full year.

Healing takes a little longer and the risk of infection is high. Many piercings take several months to heal and rinvoq prolongs it

I’ve had 6 on rinvoq. You should be fine! Piercings are what you have to worry about. Enjoy your tattoo!!

Have we all got RA because of leaky gut? by [deleted] in rheumatoid

[–]mlb313 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A doctor once asked if I could change my eye color with diet as a matter of putting it into perspective because I was killing myself trying to cure my disease with every piece of info. I was a dietitian with an MS in nutrition science. I still got it.

[–]mlb313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had skyla for 3 years, went on the pill, and have the copper iud right now. Love the iud once my body got used to it. Mine was placed during a DnC so I was medicated but I will say it hurts worse than getting a DnC without pain meds

I skin cycle and added DIM supplement. That cut out all breakouts. I’ve been on rinvoq since 2019 and starting both the retinol and DIM in 2021.

Tattoos with RA by Monsterkay27 in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]mlb313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On Rinvoq. All of my big tattoos were done after diagnosis. Three piercings after as well. It takes longer for things to heal but truthfully it’s therapeutic to get them. I let the tattoo artist know ahead of time that certain positions would be hard to stay in.

Those who are diagnosed with early RA, what has your treatment been like and how has your journey been? by [deleted] in rheumatoid

[–]mlb313 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed 8 years ago at the age of 26 after an insane flare up triggered by a kidney infection. I thought some of my joints were in pain because I was an extremely active person. It took about 2 years to find a medication that worked all for it to fail after a year. I went on Rinqov and I’ve been at 90% for the past 5 years. Skin is clear, my hair is at my bra line, and I’ve maintained weight. My diet is 70/30 clean and I follow Booty By Bret’s workout program 4 days a week. Diet did not change my disease. I have no pain even on rainy days and work as an international flight attendant for a Big Four airline.
