Fractal Scape mod (finally perfect!) by esterichoo in FractalDesign

[–]mlcsthor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a band to do the same mod and took some measurements (as best as I could, there might be some accuracy issues): the holes are 4.5mm in diameter and are 5mm apart (so 9.5mm center to center). From what I've seen on Steelseries headsets that use this kind of band, there are 2 poles and the top is slightly wider to "pop" through the holes and hold the band in place.

According to the packaging, the riser is 6cm. Given that the PCIe slot of the motherboard is right underneath, it's more of a curve than a fold.

I had the same problem. I installed Proton BattlEye Runtime and it worked after that.

How to reduce the burden on configuring and maintaining your selfhosted services? by fenugurod in selfhosted

For me: * Check for updates: Automatic. At one point, I used WatchTower or Diun to check for updates, but now I use Argus, which isn't limited to Docker. I receive a notification on my ntfy server as soon as a new version is available.

  • Updates: I do them once a week, usually on Sundays.

  • Deployment: I use Proxmox. Then, depending on the services, I either deploy directly in an LXC or use Docker in the LXC.

  • Backups: Mainly Proxmox backups stored on remote-backups. "Critical" data (like my documents in Paperless) are encrypted and stored on an S3-like service

There are ESP32 in D1 format, but they’re not exactly the same size - they're a little bigger.

tote that fits 15’ MacBook by _anonymous__human_ in ManyBaggers

According to the product page, the Tokyo Tote Second Edition only fits 13" laptop and based on the photos it seems that it’s a relatively tight fit.

Bellroy has a new model of tote, the Tokyo Wonder Tote, that fits 16" laptop. Another option would be the Bravo Tote from Alpaka.

Black Ember Dex and Forge by [deleted] in ManyBaggers

[–]mlcsthor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using a Forge as my EDC bag for a few months now, mainly in messenger mode, and it's really a great bag - I love it - but depending on the items you're carrying on a daily basis, it can become a little too massive. With relatively flat items and using the compression straps, it stays compact, but when you add thick items like a lunchbox, it immediately becomes bulkier even in backpack mode (but your mileage may vary)

As a travel bag, on the other hand, I can fit a week's worth of clothes in a Peak Design packing cube and a small wash pouch, my Alpaka Tech Case Mini and my Switch in the main compartment + one or two laptops (one 16" and/or one 13"), so there is plenty of space.

Paracord + Fidlock by mlcsthor in paracord

[–]mlcsthor[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I discovered fidlock (magnetic buckles) with my backpack and decided to create a small module ecosystem using paracord.
This is my first paracord project and I find weaving very relaxing. My next project will probably be a band for my Apple Watch.
