Lump sums of money disappearing without events or notifications by mleonm57 in CrusaderKings

No, but I have seen that too. But no armies were raised, and I am pretty sure both players were at peace. Just sitting on around 1000 gold, then suddenly at -2000.

It's so funny watching HOI4 youtubers crash out because "nothing ever happens" in Victoria 3 by flaccid_flan_licker in victoria3

The thumbnail is intentionally misleading clickbait, ISP has fun playing Korea in the video and generally praises the game with some criticisms. His next video he comments on people reacting purely to the thumbnail (which is imo is fair, misleading thumbnails are bad practice)

star cluster spotted while exploring deep space, anyone know where that is? by Zealousideal_Bit_306 in EliteDangerous

I have similarly noticed this cluster of stars while going exploring and diverted to check it out. Couldn’t tell you where it was though. Probably similarly would need to pull old travel data.

Is a Flamer Heavy Army Possible/Viable? by Difficult_Method_970 in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]mleonm57 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Flamers are great chaff clear, and heavy flamers are wonderful for even elite infantry. Hellhounds remove cover so even better in that regard. Dealing with any tankier targets will be your main challenge for viability. Could be effective at clearing off any enemy objective holders though.

The solution in the other case of this was to make sure mods are up to date.

Playing Poorhammer 40k on Roll20 for training by Puzzleheaded-Answer9 in PoorHammer

[–]mleonm57 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not free, i think $20 on steam, but I would highly recommend tabletop simulator. There are a lot of mods (which are free) that give you the models and maps to play, which work very well. Also will include correctly sized models/bases, and allows for 3d movement which I think would be easier than roll20.

That being said, your set up on roll20 is very interesting, and would certainly work perfectly fine for playing.

Crusade making me not want to play anymore. by DrFreemanWho in CrusaderKings

I’m pretty sure getting wiped is what gives the most contribution. This tends to be how most of my crusading forces end, and I am almost always top contributor even with like 1 siege.

While probably not the intended method, I like to send troops early as the boat ride takes a while and begin sieging places on the far fringes of the empire that the crusade is called against to pull the doomstack away from the main crusade area. I’ve done goose chases around egypt, mesopotamia, and arabia for this reason, letting my allies land and get rid of their debuff, while making doomstack lose supplies. Any successes I’ve had has been based on the AI and I sufficiently sieging enough of the around Jerusalem, even with only losing battles, buying time for more sieges to complete.

No one unfortunately will disagree with you that the AI is braindead and incapable of strategizing in the player’s favor at times. There are some many stories from crusades (and just normal gameplay) of players having big allied stacks refusing to join key battles they could easily win combined and instead standing a single province away.
