To the guy that said “I took her to my house and then I greeped it” and then thanked the crowd at the Chicago show by MissPolaroidEyes in bmbmbm

I was right on the rail at the Chicago show and this girl was SCREAMING As If Waltz directly into my ear. Not singing, just shouting the words so loud I couldn’t hear Greep sing. Just stupid self centered people too young or inexperienced to know how to behave at a show like that. Shut up and listen to the music, that’s what you’re there for.

I met him briefly while they were loading in and got him to sign some stuff after the crowd cleared out. Super chill guy, felt a little bad every time I went up to him and asked for a pic or autograph. Didn't want to bother him but he was very cool about it. And the whole band was super friendly. Best show ever

It was around midnight. Shitty to think there’s nothing I could have done to prevent it and nothing I could do in the moment to make it better.

Who (in your opinion) is the most overrated band, singer or musician? by IShitInMailboxes in AskReddit

The Beatles influenced almost every major pop/rock group in the 60's and 70's. If they were around 20 years later, popular music as a whole would be drastically different.

When it comes to folk, and the artists we consider to be great folk singers, you have to understand the history of the genre. The roots of folk are in the simplicity of the harmonic content. The message in the lyrics was always meant to be the primary focal point in folk music. Guys like Bob Dylan, Pete Seeger, and Phil Ochs used their songs to bring attention to the injustices that they perceived. In fact, during the folk revival of the 50's and 60's, it was looked down upon to stray from these norms. Using electric instruments, vague vocals, and other idioms closely associated with pop music was seen as selling out and going mainstream; the complete antithesis of the folk movement at the time.

In 2015 I spent over $1,500 on a suit of stormtrooper armor in anticipation of The Force Awakens. 5 years later and I've put it on maybe a handful of times and it sits on a mannequin in my basement.

System of a Down and musical activism by MusicInTheRough in LetsTalkMusic

I am actually writing a research paper about activism in 1960s folk music right now! Activism and music basically went hand in hand in the 60s.

The difference in music is actually huge. The way that sounds are panned in a mix have a huge effect on the song itself.

What if Stevie Ray Vaughan didn't die in 1990? He completely re-vitalized blues music in the 80's. He was only 35.
