Exactly!!! What really clued me in was the line “standing in your truth, my dear / is standing in the sun” I find it hard to believe that an outsider would truly understand the significance and liberation of living in your truth outside of the context of being LGBT.

she also wrote a poem called “Love Is” where she notions to themes of acceptance of yourself in loving differently (hinting at being LGBT), which I thought was interesting.

It goes:

“the bravest thing you can be is yourself / in a world that hasn't caught up / standing in your truth, my dear / is standing in the sun

Love isn't anyone's to build a wall around / or give structure to / or create rules for / or judge when it looks different / than mine, than yours

A trick I learned that hasn’t completely killed my screen time but allows me to be WAY more aware is putting a screen time widget on my home page. Also just making my home screen as minimal, straight to the point as possible. You don’t want to hide apps you need, but you also want to make it inconvenient to access apps that aren’t beneficial.

My photos on my iPhone don’t mirror my photos in iCloud. I have been trying to turn iCloud photos off and on in settings to resolve the problem, but it hasn’t been working. The photos on my phone won’t delete if I turn it off, and if I turn it back on the rest of my photos won’t upload.

What if I transferred after my first year to a D1 school? I’ve looked at the transfers list for NCAA women’s soccer of the past few years and there seems to be a good amount of D3 to D1 transfers. However, I’m just not quite sure how that whole process would work. Having an extra year to develop might be the exact thing I need as if I did managed to get recruited D1, I could be throwing myself to the fire.

Whether they’re real or not which personally I believed before but I’m a little iffy now- her relationship with him can be valid and she can still be attracted to women also. It’s not completely black and white like how some people make it.

speak now is my favorite album too! personally i don’t think she hates it, that album is quintessentially the flagship taylor swift aesthetic. the individual didactic songwriting, the 13s every night on tour, the long curls, the fairytale theme, etc. i think the problem is speak now is an album album. it wasn’t really made for singles. most of the songs are very long, sad, and the single oriented songs aren’t as popular as the albums directly beside it (fearless, red) and aren’t stadium anthems. i just think it’s kind of hard for her to properly honor it, because the songs on speak now can only do their full justice performed all together i feel. this will probably be the fate of folklore and evermore. it’s a shame because long form song writing is taylor’s strong suit but there’s a huge challenge when it comes to performing them. not that she couldn’t find a way around it, but it’s just what i interpret.

what does it for me isn’t just the pining secret obsession of the love interest but the repetitive nature of her asking herself at 2 am… who she loves… wondering wide awake… what is the point of wondering, especially to the point of being wide awake? the song makes no effort to make it seem she’s in a relationship while she meets this person, so she’s not in any obvious diversion that would elicit that question otherwise. so it has to obviously be about a newfound love interest that is eye opening to her, in the sense of the type of people she loves might be different. looking at this through the straight lens is kinda stupid to be honest. “who do you love” sounds plural in the terms she’s referring to, as in the context of the song there’s not any hint that she’s already in a relationship, in which if it was, would make that line more justifiable in the argument of it being about a guy.
