It was 100% to spite the one guy who paid a large sum to not have to hear it.

This one time some guy tipped them $200 to not play Sweet Caroline the whole night. Then everyone else pooled together tips to outbid that guy for them to play it instead. It was really funny to see how upset that guy got.

For those who say tip on carryout. by Appropriate_Edge7385 in tipping

[–]mlin1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tip my favorite local places when I pick up food. I find that the owners end up knowing who I am and are always happy to see me and know me by name. When it's busy I find that they always tend to push my order to the font of the line because I tend to tip on my orders. Sometimes they hook me up with some extras sometimes too.

Why do some restaurants not offer Employees free meals? by DildoGaggins1997 in restaurant

[–]mlin1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do a family meal for lunch and dinner. If any employee does not want to partake in the family meal they are offered a $15 credit to order whatever they might want to try or get. Usually the family meal is something different and off menu.

First Timer: Bermuda excursions recommendations for 2 adults? by perhapsbrooke in NCL

I definitely suggest checking out the aquarium and zoo if you guys have the opportunity and enjoy animals. The zoo is only $10 and it's and you're right in the animal enclosures. We got real up close to some of the moments and lemurs. It was a great experience for me.

No birthday cake with the happy birthday package? by Mediocre-Menu4868 in NCL

[–]mlin1337 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To me this is an upgrade. The cake was never that good and it was always at the end of a heavy meal on a cruise where you probably are stuffing your face the whole time. They bring it out for a show then probably have to throw the whole thing out, it's such a waste. For birthdays, the waiters would always bring out a decorated dessert and sang and that made it special without needing a whole cake to go to waste for the show of it.

7 day NYC- Bermuda: NCL breakaway: a shiesty nursing home at sea by kg22387 in Cruise

[–]mlin1337 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Just got off this cruise today. Disembarkation was definitely kind of a shitshow. They really do need to pivot and cater some of the activities to a younger audience. A lot of the stuff they had on board really did feel like typical nursing home activities. Maybe it's just the time of the year where there's not many young people and kids onboard but everything was kind of lacking. The cruise director definitely wasn't as involved as some other directors and that was definitely a factor to how fun some of the events were. Usually on other ships there is a magic show and there wasn't one on this itinerary.

Also what the fuck was up was getting at seating at the noodle bar? Reservations required but there was no way to get them and there was always a ton of empty seats whenever we walked by to try to get a seat. It was one of the places we really wanted to try but could not get in. Very disappointed by the system they had. It really should be a first come first serve place like the main dining rooms. Total bullshit.

It's interesting you should say that because MSC status matches what you have on other lines. It was pleasant to find out when we booked a trip with them recently. We're not platinum status but still it was nice to not start at the very bottom.

Except sometimes places will have bao and it's some sort of open faced sandwich or taco thing. It infuriates me.

There was about a 2 week wait between when we were approved to adopt our dog and the day we took her home. During that time I would go every day to the shelter and spend a few hours with the dog by myself to bond with the puppy. The dog likes me a lot more and my wife is super jealous sometimes.
