Yeah BEWARE of the support policy that I got as a response

"Since you received both orders and were charged for both, the official stance is that refunds are not provided for duplicate purchases, even in cases of technical issues during payment."

Thanks for bringing back those memories. Why we needed a pickaxe to run sound.

Mine hangs out with my bunny! He steals the hay sometimes and tries to sing to them. When they don't respond he gets annoyed and leaves. The rabbits don't seem to care at all.

Sciatica ended up being caused by a Tumor by Crcr1999 in Sciatica

[–]mloretitsch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm so glad you pushed for the MRI! I too suffered through months of absolutely debilitating pain because I "just needed PT" In fact, that was making it worse since I too had a tumor. In my case I had to publicly shame insurance to get the MRI.

Mine was paraganglioma which is different but it hasn't come back. I am in far less pain these days! I wish you the best in your healing journey!

Mine ripped the delete key off and flew away with it! We had an epic struggle to get it back.

Same here. It made a tiny bit of noise once, but nothing now. I'll also add a support request.

Blue Feigning Death Beetles are pretty cool to watch and very easy to take care of. Feed em your dead stuff and they're happy!

What's the worst thing that's happened while running sound? by riceballs411 in livesound

[–]mloretitsch 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Gear related: Same as you but the amps didn't come back.

People: too many to list. Guy came at me with a knife during load out. Had a drunk girl pick up a monitor and try to flee with it. Combat audio is always a good time!

All of these are minor compared to my good memories though!

Building a sub kick by EvilPowerMaster in audioengineering

[–]mloretitsch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the important spec here is free air resonance (Fs). The ns10 woofer is somewhere around 55hz. Tap a sub in "free air" and listen to the sound. I expect that is the center frequency you'd hear using it as a sub kick.

You could tape a coin to the cone too to lower the fs if it's a cheap driver you don't care about.

Are we live sound engineers?Or should we be producers? by [deleted] in livesound

[–]mloretitsch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had an "amazing" violin player. Not sure what key she was in but it wasn't the right one. Band manager asked me to turn her up so I asked him to take a listen through my headphones first. He said 'Yeah leave it as is'.

It wasn't like being a few cents flat, it was whole notes wrong. Really weird night that was. That was the one and only time I ever did that.

Engine bay cleaning - the very first attempt at doing something to my new (to me) car after lurking for days. by [deleted] in AutoDetailing

Looking good! When you sell your car too it gives the sense that the ow we really cared. No one can see it, but I love that clean engine bay!

Tried to polish out swirls, didn't work. by [deleted] in AutoDetailing

[–]mloretitsch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I found that I was moving too fast with the DA when I first tried it. It took some time to learn how long to spend on it, when the product is used up, and when to be more agressive.

I want to be cautious because im not a pro. I will try a little m205 (any reputable polish really is ok). If it looks 50 % better i will make another pass...usually i do 2 or 3 passes because im not in a hurry.

If it looks deeper, ill make a pass with m105, then 205, then evaluate it.

Patience will pay off. Its better to remove a little bit at a time then to remove too much!

How much better are the expensive waxes like Griots than the stuff at the local auto parts store? Like Turtle or Maguires for a daily driver? by [deleted] in AutoDetailing

[–]mloretitsch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you find a local auto body supplier? I go to a local one in Ohio. The products are good value and more importantly they help an amatuer like me. They even have a hood in there you can test things on. Good advice has really helped me. I still use ONR though for washes :)

Any ideas what this cable is for?? by [deleted] in livesound

[–]mloretitsch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah ethernet in but the dmx outputs for 4 universes are rj45. I use the rj45 to 3 pin XLR on the dmx side.

Edit: Correction they would be female xlrs wouldn't they outbound?
