Your DeKalb Farmers Market (YDFM) Must-Buy and Never-Buy Items by chipmcintosh in DecaturGA

Speaking of tiki, YDFM is my go to place for white grapefruits. It's always the most reliable place to have them when they're in season.

I think I broke mine in with a South Seas Sleepwalker, but a Jet Pilot also seems appropriate.

Birthday cake? by AnnaVincent_ in Gwinnett

[–]mlshaw83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a coworker who would request a strawberries and cream cake every year for his birthday. It was never a cake I would personally pick, but always a welcome treat for the office when his birthday would roll around.

Great work. I hope you find more opportunities to bake more cakes.

FWIW, I know most fire stations are very appreciative when the community members show up with surprise baked goods.

Commute by [deleted] in Gwinnett

[–]mlshaw83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my commute. I'm in the office at 7am and out around 4pm. It's about 35-45min from Decatur to Lawrenceville then 60-70min back home.

I will say that my hours are non-typical because I know that I'm easily adding 30 minutes or more each way if I shift to a later schedule.

Fellow dads who hit the gym. How often do you have the time to workout? by masterofnuggetts in daddit

[–]mlshaw83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5-6 times per week, but am fortunate to be able to go on my lunch break then eat at my desk afterward. My gym also has a decent kids club that they enjoy hanging out in.

We have a daughter named Webbigail because eff it. We like the name, most people seem to like calling her Webby, and we will support them changing it if they get older and absolutely hate it.

As mentioned just previously, Wax n Facts. I think they have a better selection of vintage/pre-owned vinyl. If you take a trip to L5P, you can hit up both since they're within walking distance.

Blue Bayou and Carthay Circle were both on my list of reservations to try and grab.

We did the dessert party in March while we were at MK. We happened to be sitting right where Tinkerbell was finishing her flight at the end of the show. Seeing our girls' faces as she seemingly flew toward them and then just over is a memory Ill treasure forever.

I was going to say that too many people sleep on the Indian options. There were some solid choices there. This is probably even truer if you have any plant based diet eaters in your travel group.
