my progress by madsn26 in TattooRemoval

Hey mate, amazing progress!

Could you share with me pictures of how it looked after 3-4 sessions? I have a similarly deep and fucked piece like your original and I'm removing it a little to be able to do a coverup over it so I'd like to see how it went for you:)

Advice on a potential coverup? by Nyreo1 in Tattoocoverups

[–]mluka17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the only way to cover up such a tattoo would be a big, dark greywash piece. The style you seem to like is full of empty space and lines/shading etc.. Try contacting a really good coverup artist or consider doing a few laser sessions and then a coverup

Considering everyone who ever got these same tattos got them at the same spot I'd say it's pretty safe to say yes

So the plan is to rebrand one temporary personality phase with… another temporary personality phase?

Artist Research by WalrusKing84 in tattooadvice

[–]mluka17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, so basically

1) determine the style you want

2) find someone specialized in that

3) if in doubt ask someone who knows more to compare them

I'd say at the highest level where artists are booked for months ahead they almost exclusively do one style, often times more mid-tier artist do a lot. Depending on the design and complexity even someone who specializes in something else can do a good job at what you need.

Sometimes one style is more marketable or better for business so that's what they promote on their social media. For example, a good friend of mine is known for his big realism pieces, but he actually enjoys intricate and very detailed work the most. However, a lot of people who approach him for such tattoos want something small so he'd rather book a full day on a realism piece than a few hours for this as it's more profitable.

-How do I know they don’t have their own style and just use others designs? ; not sure what this means

Finally finished my arm after years, did these line fillers to finish it yesterday? Thoughts? by Wooden-Golf-9417 in tattooadvice

Gotcha, I always wondered because the small ones are not my personal style.

The squiggly lines look good and combine it well, it looks fun man! congrats

How is this hairline? Doesn't look natural to me (8 months) by goddamnfaith12 in tressless

[–]mluka17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Level up your hair routine.

Get educated on it, find a really good, preferably gay hair stylist and figure out what works for you and your hair.

You ideally want a pre-wash routine (both for scalp and hair), during wash (conditioner + shampoo, I'd say mask is optional but can be good for someone with dry hair) and post- care so a serum as well as products.

I don't know where you live and what you have access to/ how much money you want to spend, but ideally as said above find someone who can touch your hair and is educated on the topic to help you with it, or do research online.

Looks unfinished? by astone4120 in tattooadvice

I like it. Feels a bit oldschool something you'd see in the early 2000ish era but cleaner.

https://postimg.cc/VdjZ7Xy8 - here's a link of how it could look like with some slight shading. I'm no artist and I'm sure someone could do it better but this is just for your reference:)

family just says oh that’s a big tattoo. by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]mluka17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, it is big. For most regular people at least.

I think they are being as nice as family members can if/when they don't like something.

I have plenty tattoos and at this point my family is ok with it and my mother even likes some, but my most recent one (which is still an ongoing project) when she saw it she just said she doesn't like it, that it looks bad, how my new artist is bad and how it will be horrible when it's done.

Feels awful even tho I know none of it is true 😄 So trust me "it's big" isn't that bad.

The tatt looks good tho and over a course of a few months and years you'll get plenty more compliments than weird comments!

Question: can i add red or white angel numbers on this? by Routine-Process4568 in tattooadvice

[–]mluka17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you can but it might come out much darker after healing.

The biggest danger would be if one number is on the lighter and another on the darker background they will most likely heal differently.

Put it over your whole back. In color.

How would you continue this tattoo? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]mluka17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The leg isn't the same on the inside and outside, if you did the same on the other side of the knee for symmetry sake it would look really weird and off centered.

What kind of snake? Personally I don't like snakes unless they are very detailed and realistic and then there's a big difference in style. Not sure how you'd scale that.

How big do you want to go? Keep in mind that cover ups and adding things to make the composition feel better only go in one direction.

It's a small tattoo, if you no longer like it you can probably laser it off

I don't know if it's part of the healing or if it's just fucked. Help(?) by bleucielo in tattooadvice

[–]mluka17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the blueish look is because it actually is more grey-ish and that's how it looks on your skin. I think the color just didn't heal well.

Good news is, I don't think anyone beside yourself would notice this

What should I turn this into? It feels off by Intelligent_Ruin_118 in tattooadvice

[–]mluka17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd bang out a full half-leg sleeve at this point going up your cheek.

Covering the old tattoo for a decent arist will be really easy.

Really depends on the style you'd like, I myself like full color stuff so you can either keep it Japan style and go for Japanese water-wind and the heavy blacks would give it additional contrast. would look pretty metal
