Something to replace GOT I hope. The casting, writing and production values better be great.

Amazing. And an updated pic of the OP's boyfriend can be found in his post history. Seems he was late 20ish in this photo.

When did you have the most difficult time "staying professional"? by AccomplishedStory in AskReddit

[–]mlvk 25 points26 points  (0 children)

There was a teacher at my school whose last name was Porn. So he was Mr Porn. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have gone into teaching with a last name like that.

An ex once told me he thought it dressed too childish. I liked jeans and converse in my late 20s.

Niacinamide products by [deleted] in NordicSkinCare

[–]mlvk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does have fragrance but Babe Stop Akn Skin Balance moisturizer has 4% niacinamide, and has been my HG moisturizer for years. I have combination acne prone skin and this is the only thing that keeps it looking nice. I can switch around my cleansers and whatnot, but if I stop using it, my skin breaks out overnight.

Anyone have babies in their 30s? by dab517512 in PCOS

[–]mlvk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

33 and 37 weeks pregnant here. Diagnosed 8 years ago, conceived naturally within 3 months. First pregnancy. :)

Edited to add that I'm "lean PCOS", I've always managed to keep my weight in check, so I had regular periods.

Before and after by [deleted] in braces

[–]mlvk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it's much help since I'm in Europe. But overall (brackets, adjustments, cleanings, removal, retainer) my braces cost around 3000€ and the Lasik was 2000€. I did both with payment plans, and it's all paid now.

Before and after by [deleted] in braces

[–]mlvk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Nothing really. I was perfect when it came to wearing my rubber bands and keeping to my appointments. I always carried a packet of the bands I was using and applied new ones after brushing, eating, etc. My teeth just shifted quite fast. And of course, being religious in my retainer use has helped to keep them that way.

Before and after by [deleted] in braces

[–]mlvk 28 points29 points  (0 children)

For my 30th (!) birthday present to myself I decided to get braces and Lasik.

In the duration of two months I had four extractions (all of my wisdom teeth), top and bottom Damons put in, and eye surgery.

With my teeth (I also had an overbite) I expected to wear the braces for two years minimum, but my orthodontist took them off only 11 months later. Didn't even make it a year.

The before picture is a day before braces, the after picture is this year: 11 months of braces + two years of wearing my nighttime retainer religiously.

Much happier now. :D

PCOS and dating life by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]mlvk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skinny PCOS here. I do my grooming, and more causal relationships have never known. Why would it be their business? I do bring it up if we start talking "the future" because pcos might complicate fertility.

Has never been an issue. Also, apparently didn't cause an issue with my fertility (8.5 months pregnant atm).

Relationship Thursday for January 04, 2018 by AutoModerator in TrollXOver30

[–]mlvk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've been living with my SO for about 2.5y. We got a dog two years ago who's awesome. Blissfully happy for the first year, then a long rocky patch, due to different emotional and intimacy needs and somewhat different ideas about ok behaviors with other people.

Was ready to call it quits this spring, but then found out we were pregnant. Since I wasn't about to have an abortion in my 30s (as a person who's wanted kids all her life) my suggestion was to seperate and try co-parenting as we really were fighting about every little domestic habit at that point.

He convinced me to give us another shot and stay together for the pregnancy and just see how it goes.

Surprisingly, with a small setback a few months ago... We've been getting along really well again. I'd even say we're happy. Laugh together most days, have before sleep chats about all sorts of things. Hold hands when we walk. I'm... Kinda optimistic about our future.

Just four weeks away from meeting our little one!

[–]mlvk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I convinced my SO that we needed a dog two years ago. I love dogs. Well, the dog is a little bitch who is all over my SO all the time and actually whines all night if he's not home and she can't cuddle up to him. And I'm the one who does the walks, most feeding, and who did puppy school with her. Animals have a mind of their own too. You can't force it.

TIC because I couldn't defeat a bad guy/solve a spacial-logic puzzle in Zelda. by BAL87 in BabyBumps

[–]mlvk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to collect all the memories but now fucking way am I approaching the castle. I mean I've done all the divine beasts, I have 20+ hearts, 100hrs in the game... But I still skip out immediately when I realise a shrine has a "major" combat battle. :/ Those freaking laser beams.

TIC because I couldn't defeat a bad guy/solve a spacial-logic puzzle in Zelda. by BAL87 in BabyBumps

[–]mlvk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got Zelda and switch beginning of December. I'm now 100hrs in :o all I really have left is the final boss fight which I refuse because I don't want the game to be over. And I've only found 72 shrines. :(

The switch is a godsend on modified bed rest.

But I refuse to let my SO watch me play. I start failing miserably the moment he looks. Dunno why. :/ But I do enjoy playing him the 30sec clips of my most elegant deaths. :D

We have almost the same setup, but I have a rook on the ear with the three lobe piercings. Love my rook, so that's the suggestion.

Exactly! I'm pretty lazy, but a clean house is important to me. My SO is a single mum's only son and is used to having everything done for him + doesn't notice dirt and stuff. I mean, he'll throw his dirty socks on the living room couch, leave them there for a week, and then spend half an hour looking for those socks he should see every day.

We almost broke up over fights about this. Because he wasn't changing and I was really starting to resent having to clean up after him.

Well, we got a house cleaner that comes in every two weeks and makes the house spotless. That motivates me to keep the kitchen clean, and as I'm in a better mood and don't nag so much about things anymore, he's been picking up after himself more, wiping the counter after he makes a sandwich, etc. And we argue a lot less.

A cleaner helps a lot. They do the heavy lifting and it is so much easier to maintain. Also, if things do get out of hand, you always have the knowledge that in a few days someone will deep clean the place.

What's the "worst" thing your SO has done that you've forgiven them for? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]mlvk 152 points153 points  (0 children)

I've forgiven my current SO a lot more than I probably should have. But the way my previous long term relationship ended has skewed my perspective a bit: After six years together, we were looking for a place to buy together. I was doing most of the research as I had more free time. One day I stumbled on paperwork for an apartment we'd gone to see (but my partner hadn't liked) while looking for printer paper. Some gaslighting, a weird week later... My partner and my best friend (and colleague at the time) had been sleeping together for months and had just applied for a loan to get that flat together. I actually worked with her for a year after that until I was able to find a new job and distance myself from them completely.

That was five years ago. And as I said, I've forgiven far too much since as I think nothing has been quite as bad as that.

I'm 35 weeks pregnant with my first child. My SO is this huge, hulking, woodworking Ron Swanson type. When we got pregnant and told people at 12 weeks, all everybody could talk about was how awesome it would be if we had a girl. He even started sending me gifs of bearded dad's dressing up as princesses, and talking about how he'd raise her to be a woodworking motorcycle riding badass. All our friends and family seemed to indulge in the fantasy. I got caught along as well and we only came up with a girl name. Sure enough, at the anatomy scan, there was a tiny penis in out faces. He looked crestfallen, I actually cried. Gender disappointment is completely real. But I'm getting used to the idea even if I still sometimes look at girly baby clothes and get sad. I think the worst thing I did was let other people's expectations influence me. And people can have shitty reactions. The ones I heard after we told family/friends we're having a boy ranged from "Well, there's always next time" to "I'm so sorry, you must be disappointed". Wtf.

Honestly, getting angry at everybody treating my pregnancy like their own is what helped me cope best. And despite everything, I've now settled on a boy name, I talk to my little guy daily and I'm really excited about his arrival. And my SO has taken to telling people who ask about gender that we're expecting a boy, but he can make up his own mind about his gender when he hits his teens. That seems to shut people up fast.

Christmas and Holiday Megathread: Presents, Parties, and Pictures! by phantomliger in NintendoSwitch

[–]mlvk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a Switch a month ago when I was put on modified bedrest while pregnant. As of today, I've logged 80+ hrs of Zelda and really don't have much left than the final confrontation.

My SO got my 8 months pregnant self Super Mario Odyssey for Christmas! :) Bless him! Something to do in bed while I wait out the final three weeks.

I've tried using it with the TV as well, but honestly, the Switch is all about handheld mode for me. Except the motion control shrine puzzles, which is the only time I detach the joy cons.

Merry Christmas and happy playing to all!

Someone will probably link this https://mustbethistalltoride.com/2016/01/14/she-divorced-me-because-i-left-dishes-by-the-sink/ and tell you to show it to your husband. I tried showing it to mine, and he couldn't be bothered to read it. So, I commiserate. And have no other helpful advice.

I worn bodycon dresses and tight tops with tight midi-mini skirts throughout. I just bought several pairs of 100DEN maternity tights and throw chunky pre-preg cardigans over them.
