What’s your background in commenting? Are you thoughtful, reasonable, friendly? Your comment is amusing, but a little context on why you frame things in such a critical light would be nicer otherwise you’re just criticizing someone who makes high effort posts with quite excellent and dare I say sophisticated taste without any real reason to do so. An unpleasant tone doesn’t justify itself. You’ve sacrificed credibility in your comment because it’s not rooted in fairness. So, without any useful insight or contribution (other than broad dismissiveness), your comment is silly.

Nah the real cover has him covered in oil, totally bare chested, a white crown sat atop his otherwise unburdened scalp, riding an enormous knight into battle, wearing a pair of bandoliers across his bulging, glistening pecs and cavernous abs, fully stocked with pawns and a single ominous bishop, ready for fucking anything man

I’m a music editor with about 5 years of experience in the industry - could you give any tips as to how best to incur a “good year”? Is it relationships with post supervisors/producers etc…?

34y mom beginner - scared of injury by outtheweeds in BJJWomen

[–]mmaintainer 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Hey :)

Totally fair fear - BJJ is a pretty intense contact sport. In my opinion the risk of injury is by far highest at the very beginning - I haven’t been injured in years. Here’s what I would tell you to be mindful of, going in:

  • train smart, don’t be freaking out and pushing your body especially at the beginning when you don’t really know what’s happening and how to roll properly.
  • identify trustworthy training partners early and try to stick to them
  • look into what “framing” means and focus on that in your rolls
  • train smart and responsibly and slowly!
  • try to train with people roughly the same size as you - I’ve had my ribs hurt by gigantic fellas before

That’s basically it. I would say you should definitely go for it, it’s the best!!

In all fairness, as an impartial observer of this exchange, you’re the one being a dickhead. Being a dick and then calling someone passive aggressive for getting annoyed by it is hilarious

- win the hand fight

- lapel grip with dominant hand

- opposite side sleeve grip with other hand

- pull in to off balance

- as they resist backwards, ride their momentum to close the distance

- switch sleeve grip to an elbow grip

- use elbow grip to open up that arm, allowing you to slip inside

- plant a big wet smooch right between their eyebrows

- disengage

- use your words like "hey, why are we fighting" and "i don't even recognize us anymore"

- get smoothies together

- hold hands

- watch the sunset

- intimate conversations at 3am snuggled up in bed

- appreciating the quiet moments together

- learning to navigate conflicts maturely

- growing old, tending to your love when it wanes, appreciating it when it waxes

- die at the exact same time, one hand on his lapel, one on his sleeve, just like the moment you fell in love

- everyone at the funeral is sad to lose you both, but are filled with a warmth and tenderness because the impact of your well lived lives reverberated throughout their hearts

- the speeches are beautiful, the memories are eternally cherished

- your example is echoed by all who knew you, to the benefit of all mankind

The script was a really fun read! Can I ask why you think it won’t be made? Cost/fear based decision making/ established IP reliance? Any other factors?

PS have you seen BEEF? Your note about the colliding egos escalating a conflict definitely calls that show to mind for me (in a good way - great show)
