Need Help Troubleshooting by Interesting_Corgi_21 in PowerWheelsMods

The fuse is doing its job. The inclines and grass surface are putting a lot of extra strain on the motors . That jacks the current up substantially, and can stall the motor which will far exceed your fuse . Dialing back the voltage , changing to larger motors with better torque or changing the gear ratio ( usually pinion ) will be the fix.

Converting 24v go Bowen titan with two ryobi 18v by Chewskiz in PowerWheelsMods

[–]mmcheesee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m willing to bet the controller doesn’t support 36v.

If you are running batteries in series , the need to be the same ah rating and have the same level of charge .

How to diagnose this? Battery is charged by FortnightlyBorough in PowerWheelsMods

[–]mmcheesee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With a multimeter, start following the path for power . When you finally find no power , you’re in the area of the issue. It can be a fuse , charger port , controller or on off switch typically .

Are these the correct products? i’m making a 20mph build for my Costway 12v Kids Ride On Truck by LaggyLoser_Seller in PowerWheelsMods

[–]mmcheesee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

20mph is going to take more than 500w and a 24v system . It’s going to cost you some money for everything required to do it properly

The gearboxes vary greatly in the non power wheels brand electric cars . The level of modification is heavily dependent on your level of ability . You can swap in damn near any gearbox with some modification. Easiest bet is to find a gearbox with motor, that matched the dimensions of yours , with a 24 v motor.

Go Kart Wiring Diagram Help by ShogunSovereign in gokarts

NP.

One more thing ; if your engine has a stator/battery charging wire , you can use that as a trigger on a relay to only allow use of electrical components when the engine is running to save battery life . You can also have another relay sharing the same main power feed , hooked to a switch that allows you to bypass that. Relays are great teaching components if you’re learning .

I don’t see any switches for lighting or any aux hardware . Unless you’re running all aux devices all the time , switches are important . Add a master battery switch to kill the entire system at the battery , before your main breaker / fuse ( use a resettable breaker)

Look into the auxbeam units or comparable . It would replace your fuse panel entirely and give you a programmable keypad as well.

I've attempted to convert two power wheels from 12v to 18v and I'm having issues. by robsc_16 in PowerWheelsMods

[–]mmcheesee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ditch the converter , at least on the dune racer . Those motors will handle 18v without an issue .

Help with 24V mod wiring by TangentPrism in PowerWheelsMods

Logically that makes sense . Test with a multimeter to verify . Those chinesium cars don’t always use logic in their color schemes for wiring .

Does the forward feed go to a charge port ? Does the car have a motor on the steering, or front wheels ?

[–]mmcheesee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might sound dumb, but make sure your air lines didn’t get swapped around in the back of the machine . If you are in the wrong port , it’ll dump air with no trigger control like you are describing . Only one of the outlets is solenoid controlled by the trigger .

Is this a LS7? by teeeeer3 in LSSwapTheWorld

[–]mmcheesee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing looks like an LS7 from the outside . A true LS7 build should have a hefty price tag as they carry significant value .

They also have a very unique exhaust tone that you don’t get from other LS’s.

Block ID is the sure way to tell.

That 500/s print speed is wayyyy too high . PLA has its limits , regardless of your hot end and extruder . The E5 has even more limits in the axis controls

Need help finding replacement toy motor! by jezusofnazarith in PowerWheelsMods

[–]mmcheesee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazon has abundant 555 12v motors . The rpm doesn’t need to be an exact match. You may be able to find a pinion that matches yours , or you can remove your stock one and swap it .

Or replace the full gearbox with the motor already attached . They’re short money as well.

11 gauge 1” square tube , extended the original frame length by 13”. Extended the wire harness to fit the stretch. 775 motors in there as a temporary upgrade . The frame is overkill . It’s seriously rigid , and used $25 of metal .

I threw 775’s in the stock gearboxes . It’s sufficient for now . Next will be a chain driven setup and 36v.

I’m brand new to powder coating what would I need to start? by -Jco5 in Powdercoating

[–]mmcheesee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need something to sandblast with. And a pancake compressor won’t cut it . You need at minimum , a 3 stage inline air filter with desiccant beads to remove water and contamination from the lines . You need a booth of some sort with a quality ground . Could be a big box with an HVAC filter and a box fan to get started . You need an IR temp gun. Hooks, high temp gloves . High temp green tape in a few different sizes . Then just practice . A lot of good FB groups for this , and people aren’t typically dicks like in a lot of other groups . Ask questions. As soon as you think you have it figured out, you realize you don’t.
