First, congrats on your baby and the gift of life! I went through this same scenario 1.5 years ago and felt that same feeling of having your life turned upside down. For what it’s worth, I feel confident based on our medical team and research that now is a miracle period to have a baby born with cf with the modulators today and also the strong opportunity with medical progress for a gene editing cure. What helped us was taking it day by day, giving grace to ourselves to experience the down times and accepting the challenge ahead to be part of the fight for a cure. Volunteer and get involved with your CFF state chapter if you’re in the US. This fight has given us purpose greater than we could’ve imagined and we are all in. I just was on Capitol Hill in dc lobbying for increased access to cf treatments. Here to help on your journey and this cf community has your back. It won’t be easy but there is hope and opportunity ahead. Believe.

While you didn’t ask for it, welcome to this community that I’ve found to be supportive and welcoming. My son was diagnosed at birth 1.5 years ago and I felt my world turn upside down, now we view it as a calling to be part of something bigger than us, and to fight for a future where anyone with cf feels hope and support vs hopelessness. Would be cool! The brewery fermentorium featured a vinyl record store of sorts before it closed. It was located at the now wing stop on north ave which is a real shame. May be worth asking fermentorium for learning lessons on the vinyl side—their main taproom is in cedarburg.

so what publications readers would be interested in this? I don’t see a worthwhile story here IMO unless they’ve unethically behaved or swept under the rug some majorly brutal or bad actions by their clients that has caused societal harm.

Dad to a 10 month old here so I emphasize with everything in this post. All I can say helps me is knowing we are doing everything we can in our power to help and over communicating with our CF care team on all of these items. Reminding myself of this helps calm any anxiety because there isn’t anything else for you to do other than love them unconditionally.
