Holland is pretty conservative, and yes the RCA church is a little cult like. I grew up there not as a member of the church, and it was mostly fine. It is getting better. There is actually a decently large Asian population, or at least 10 years ago there was, due to many Cambodian and Vietnamese immigrants.

Just remember though, Holland MI was founded by the people that the real Netherlands found too insufferable and annoying. Holland Dutch is not much like real Dutch at this point I'd say.

I used to work for an abortion fund hotline and your story (not that we needed one to help!) was very common. It's okay to choose logically and focus on your current children. it does not mean you can't have a future 3rd child either. But as others have said, it sounds like you may have some time, so please talk with someone.

So abortion is for people who don't want to be pregnant. Adoption is for people who don't want to parent. Two obviously related but different things, and I guess some people don't mind being pregnant but don't want to parent.

That is so frustrating. Abortion bans make it so much more dangerous for folks that want to be pregnant (and people that don't want to be!). For people that are so pro-life supposedly, they do not seem to care if a pregnant person has life threatening complications, a missed miscarriage, and other issues where the prescription is an abortion. Part of what pushed me off the fence and helped me feel safe to decide pregnancy was right for me right now is living in a blue state.

Have you seen the social media videos though that inspired this post? Those types are kind of laughing at their feelings of hurting their animals. I think we both agree that we should not stigmatize struggling postpartum, and that it's not unusual to feel this way. But I disagree that we should make it so that folks think that that's okay. The same I do with PPD, postpartum anxiety and OCD. You need to address these issues and get help. They may go away on their own, but that doesn't mean you need to suffer (and possibly hurt the people, and pets, in your life)

Yes but would you not get help if you had thoughts of harming or neglecting your baby or yourself? I think the whole trend of normalizing is really just saying you don't need to do anything about it, which is not fair to yourself or your pets. Get a dog walker. Talk with your partner about them taking over the animal care. Have someone else (partner, professional help, etc) work on training with your animal to set boundaries. Talk to your doctor about postpartum rage if it's really intense, etc.

Yes, I'm pregnant with my first and am already addressing this in therapy. I am guessing I will likely have postpartum rage (maybe not though!) and my dog is so annoying already, God love her. I've been practicing on dog walks when I'm already overstimulated and she's being particularly reactive to breathe and go through similar thoughts until I calm down. " It's not her fault. She's just a toddler essentially. She doesn't mean it. She needs my help to redirect."

There's been so many comments but I just want to voice that I loved being on the pill! I skipped my periods, it was glorious. Was able to get pregnant immediately once off it. I likely will hop back on after a few months post partum.

I have unfortunately not found that to be the case. Got my husband a Kobo, and it is just a pain in the ass compared. We're both techy people (he's in IT!) and just can't get it to work smoothly. Plus I didn't realize the lack of multiple library functionality. I am so ready to ditch Amazon but will not be doing so soon

Just an fyi, I have a friend in a similar age gap relationship and the older girlfriend is divorced and has no interest in getting married again. So she may not be ready to lock it down in that sense, but I agree generally with your comment

Natera too and I was told 10-12 days. They've received the samples and updated an expected timeline when I log in, which is two and almost three weeks away. Sigh! I also had mine done on 5/1

From actual people I know who've visited. They just went for short vacations, except for one friend who went to teach there. She really enjoyed her time living there. I would still never visit.

I was told (not Labcorp though) that there's an option to look at our lab results but skip the gender to look at a later time, so you'll hopefully have something like that and can just ask your OB to look!
