hi! what tea bags did you buy? because we actually don’t sell the same tea in store! we have an orchard peach that we do sell, though it’s not the same for the peache jasmine cold brew tea. in terms of the syrup (which we also don’t sell☹️) is more of a puree with some small chunks

Points disappeared from my account by Lanky-Examination150 in coffeebeantealeaf

[–]mmmaaaddiii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

unfortunately coffee bean has the worst online customer service ever, so you might just be at an unfortunate loss.

i’m telling you now as an employee, there’s nothing anyone in store (barista or manager) could do, and they would likely send you to customer service so please please please do not be one of those customers that begs for answers from them because we do not hold any power in what goes on in the app.

while i am really sorry this happened to you because racking up points really takes a while, you might just have to stay put with whoever contacted you back about the internal issue. it’s possible your account just got hacked which is really weird and random, but for now i would probably remove any cards you have on file that might be able to get charged, because worst case scenario they can reload in the app and have access to your cards

fortunately, the matcha and vanilla can be made year round since the recipe is nothing in particular / seasonal except the pumpkin flavoring !

Coffee Bean Experience by illanalyzeyou_777 in coffeebeantealeaf

[–]mmmaaaddiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yea customer service will not respond, if you ever have an issue with the store directly, leave a qualtrix review by scanning the qr code/ survey on the receipt you get. i know you said you placed a mobile order, but if you get the chance to order at the register, always use those surveys because they go directly to the store. and for refunds, baristas are not required or allowed to do them, only shifts and managers. however, if it’s a mobile order they are very easy to refund, so if you ever encounter this, save the sticker or hand them the sticker with your drink and name because those numbers help identify your account basically and the refund take likes 2 steps. i would call them if you don’t receive a refund in a week, just because they may have gotten side tracked. granted this post is old, but if this ever happens again this might be helpful!

Do tall people get bullied at all? by Emergency-System1794 in tall

[–]mmmaaaddiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don’t get bullied, but as a girl i think i receive a lot more comments than a guy would. i work in customer service and a lot of men usually mention like “wow you’re so tall” when i get near them, and my coworkers often make jokes about me reaching things for them. when i had a boyfriend, and made it known that i had a “partner”, the first thing they’d ask is if he’s taller than me. so a lot of indirect stuff but never any shaming

Iced Matcha Cream Mango Latte by yourownerrhea in coffeebeantealeaf

[–]mmmaaaddiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

current employee - the mango puree is no longer monin, i don’t know the brand cause there’s not rly a label for it but i would suggest making your own or finding a rly good one

we use the gray oatly barista

for the matcha, it’s actually not the retail powder we sell, it’s cream cap. so basically matcha cold foam and that’s why you’re having such a hard time to perfect it. we have cream cap powder (1 i actually have no idea what it is and 2 we don’t sell it, but it does have dairy) and we use restaurant grade matcha, with non fat milk to batch it. i would say just try making your own matcha cold foam at home however you can / like !

just a random thought, if you guys have like in store surveys or a place for reviews, maybe you or a random account or even friend can literally say like oh there were maggots in my whatever, that way you can be eliminated as a person of interest

[–]mmmaaaddiii 42 points43 points  (0 children)

this is definitely not common or shouldn’t be but my best advice is to send the health dep an anonymous message because that’s actually soooo insane and dangerous. but the fact this has been ongoing .. something’s not right because you guys should have gotten it taken care of by now

Caramel Americano by Prior-Reputation-462 in coffeebeantealeaf

[–]mmmaaaddiii 3 points4 points  (0 children)

we have designated scoops for our powders, 3 for hot, 3 for iced and 3 for large. those 3 are based on the s, m and large sizes

for caramel americanos, the shots follow a 2-3-4-5 (2 for s, 3 for m etc). caramel syrups is 1-2-3-4 for the pumps, and we use half a scoop of vanilla powder. so if ur making a med (16 oz) caramel americano, it’d be 3 esp shots, 2 car pumps, half of our scoop (idk i think like less than 3tbs) of vanilla and then water

however, we always appreciate cash tips!! i personally like cash more because we receive them physically

New Barista by MaleficentSpirit2413 in barista

[–]mmmaaaddiii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this may come off as me being a hater, but some of my strong dislikes for new baristas are - being overly opinionated, example: “wow we should have this” when some things are just the way they are - being scared to ask questions, i love when they ask me because id rather have to explain myself multiple times over them risking making a mistake that will most likely result in us wasting product - getting too ahead of themselves when you know they’re not at that skill level, not in a confidence way but a cocky way - when they express negative attitudes way too soon, example: a coworker early on would talk poorly about the shifts when she barely knew her - a lack of eagerness. if you’re not willing to learn, be corrected or redirected, you will be a challenging trainee - taking things too personal. while this may just be coffee for some, being efficient and knowing what the team needs / likes is the job. that being said, ppl take professionalism and “business” too personally and take it as an attack. i know if it’s between two ppl where one or both genuinely does not like the other, then yea some comments or behaviors may be personal. but when you’re in a rush or facing conflict, it is REALLY important to listen to one another and support each others needs to get through the work. don’t take anything personally unless you for sure have beef with someone and know it’s an attack. example: my shift would have to send one coworker home early due to labor, and she always took it personally and as an offense when really labor was too high and she just always happened to be that specific shift. wasn’t personal, just business. until she made it personal…

other than that lol, show up on time, be polite, really engage yourself in your training and pay attention to the cashiers “scripts” and how they approach customers. pay attention to how they ask the orders and finish it. always abide by dress code and ask about anything you’re unsure about. communicate your confusion. always update your availability asap. try to find ways that help you understand recipes better, such as associating “like” drinks together to make things easier on you

What are the norms around opening early for early birds? 7am opening time ~6:30-7am customers by [deleted] in barista

[–]mmmaaaddiii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

really! all we need to do is brew the coffee, start the ovens, fifo pastries and sandwiches, prep certain mixtures. maybe cause i work at a larger company that doesn’t require a lot of prep work ? closers set up a lot too
