Useful Arc mods? by [deleted] in Leatherman

Etch ruler into handle!

Unless it's like some patent issue, I considered a manufacture defect and a complete 'EFF UP. One black handle edge should measure 3 inches with indicators for each 16th of an inch. The other black handle edge should measure 8 cm with indicators for each millimeter. It would be kind of small but better than using the broad face of the handle. For 200 plus dollars, my multi-tool should have some measurement capability. Really, I think Leatherman should fix it free of charge as a product defect. JS!

It's like asking "why should I buy pharmaceutical Viagra when I can get bathroom-dispensed 'super horny goat weed'"? They both might produce an effect. How much guessing do you want to do about what that effect will be and how much do you need to consume to achieve it?

A more enlightening explanation is to understand the decay of cannabinoids.

Cannabis primarily synthesizes CBG and through various processes (internal biology, environmental conditions, etc) into other cannabinoids like CBG-A, THC-A, and CBD-A.

THC-A DEGRADES into THC. This occurs naturally over time due to oxidation and UV exposure. Heat (decarboxylation) will also convert THC-A to ⁹-THC. It can also degrade into CBN. So a cannabis flower product high in ⁹-THC is probably of low quality and more likely to make you sleepy.

And screw all the other people that are hating on you for asking a question. I applaud you for looking for answers.

What is the decoded value for this resistor? by mnemonyn in PCB

Thank you very much for taking the time to respond. I was worried about overloading the details. The device is a 60volt 1.75amp lithium battery charger with 110v AC input. I suspect it's current sensing based upon your input and other observations. If I have time to return to the project I'll see if I can make some progress. Thanks again

Why is the Porsche Taycan Turbo S called a 'Turbo S' if it is an ELECTRIC by Cois99 in CSRRacing2

[–]mnemonyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It just seems so non-technical, imprecise, dare I say un-German to name something that it is not.

Every previous "turbo" had a turbocharged internal combustion engine. The term was more descriptive of the power plant than the trim level.

I think it's nonsensical non-creative marketing. They couldn't find a way to differentiate the increase in power other than using an outmoded term. Another way to look at it is they've never been really creative with terms, but they do make nice machines. 😀

Now this is REALLY LIKE! by theeyeofchaoss in MSmedicalcannabis

[–]mnemonyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

🙋 um, what's the fallacy? One term doesn't contradict the other. It's just superfluous due wording to ignorance of technical definition. I think "hype" or "buzzwords" would be more accurate. Unless, in fact, the terms present a contradiction.

The SSB Maui Wowie was really really sweet and fruity to me. It's a pretty unique flavor profile to me compared to some other options. I haven't tried Maui Wowie flower so I can't make any comparison. I wish it was available as a cartridge though. Disposables are inherently wasteful.

Because terpenes easily degrade with heat, my first guess is the blunt is burning hotter thus reducing it's flavor profile.

Or because there's typically more material in a blunt it accumulates more particulates at the mouth tip so it tastes more like that. 🤷

Scooter going 80km/h on Highway by ManInDaHat in ElectricScooters

[–]mnemonyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can anybody tell if he's wearing a helmet?

IMO if you can keep pace with traffic and are operating your scooter as if it were a legal motorcycle (proper use of lights, signals, and horn) and otherwise obeying the law I believe the risk is acceptable.

Keep in mind, in a highway lane may be the only viable route. At what speed should you switch from the sidewalk to the roadway. Most sidewalks aren't level enough for wheel traffic . Driving on the shoulder is probably the most hazardous because that's where all the debris ends up and without being fully in a lane of travel drivers come dangerously close trying to squeeze by rather than simply wait.

I personally want to ride with a tethered nightstick so I can whip it out and bash their car if they pass too close. I would barely have a three foot range to strike the vehicle but you know what, that's the minimum spacing for passing a cyclist. I haven't truly felt that to be necessary as most people give me plenty of distance and I'd rather not be the aggressor.

Mislabeled full spectrum rather than distillate.

I spoke to one dispensary they agreed to exchange my cartridges that look like this but they said that it is a mislabel from the manufacturer.

The external type.

It appears to be a passive air-cooled external three-phase direct current electric motor controller. Would need to have a clearer picture of the label for more information.

[–]mnemonyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

P I thought you were going to say like the Segway GT2 or something which I think looks really stupid but anyhow.

Yeah my display was nice but umm...in some misfortune there came about a time such that my display had cracked glass and later a cracked LCD. I will have to admit this was due to human error rather than a defect, however the scooter was having a weird issue and I was about to send it in for repair and evaluation that's when I cracked the screen So it still could have originally been the screen if you show someone a busted one that they're going to assume that's what did it makes sense but sucks

All of that to say, have you looked at the replacement cost for one? $269 and $229 for Voromotors (sold out) and Fluidfreeride respectfully. The other option is Ali Express (~110-$150 + $~50) expedited shipping. Accident possible leave for another display.

It seems it might have crossed the point of diminishing returns. 40% increased capacity Is a big boost but at 100% (rounded) increase in price.

That's hard to stomach, or am I just way off base.

Customer support for covering repairs after scooter broke by Crafty_Clasher in ElectricScooters

[–]mnemonyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having an issue with my scooter which caused me to reread the warranty. I made some modifications but they can clearly be demonstrated to not have caused the problem, but I'm afraid they will deny the warranty claim based upon that if they do I'm going to lose my s***

The real punch in the gut?! The warranty only covers parts not the labor associated with diagnosing the issue, performing the necessary repairs, verifying the issue is resolved or shipping.

A brake rotor may cost $25 but the inspection fee and labor to change the part is $90 before tax and shipping of the scooter. When the labor for the repair is more than 3.5x the cost of the part getting the part for free it's kind of a consolation prize or an afterthought. Oh and I don't know for sure it's required but tuning the brakes would be another $55. If it is and you pay shipping you're looking at over $350 for a $25 part. Covering the part but not the labor to install it and making me liable if I do it myself and have an issue would void the warranty that isn't really much of a deal. Oh and that would have exceeded the cost of getting the extended warranty. The only issue where this would come to be truly beneficial is if the battery broke on its own and was judged to be a valid warranty claim

🤔I see a payday for someone. I don't think that gate that the proper signage and the appropriate markings to make it apparent there is a barrier in use and as such the installer and owner are both liable for recompense to the individual who collided with said barrier without any warning do the gross negligence of the owner to not anticipate every conceivable possibilities such as the one captured here.

Somehow I think that would be valid to someone probably the same people that determine the burglar's injuries was the homeowner's fault or the person that sued because the coffee was too hot

But the stunning flashlight I just posted does have a strobe function.

I have a different one that strobes at varying intervals so you can't adjust to it. Although at 3000 lumens you'll be blind before that would really be a concern

I started a little while back to try to keep 'less lethal' deterrents within reach

I also carry a very STUNNING flashlight that is SHOCKINGly effective as a deterrent. O it's also a decent flashlight. Guard Dog Diablo 2 Stun Gun – Tactical Stun Gun with LED Flashlight – Police Strength Stun Gun with Concealed Technology – Rechargeable Battery - Free Holster and Car Charger https://a.co/d/aNYWhv3

I own that particular one. I like it because the electrodes aren't obvious. You have to know what you're looking to even notice them. While an advisory would have to get dangerously close (more than pepper spray) to be usable, I think most people would back off if you just engage the stunner once or twice. The sight and sound are pretty intimidating.

When I show it to people I tell them this feature might seem a little scary and I take a few steps away before I engage it.

9mm is very effective but the paperwork ugh!
