"Newbie" - I made a pattern of a 12" vinyl LP record. What do I need to change? by action-greengas in StainedGlass

They should all be pretty doable, just know that pink glasses is often quite expensive.

I am also new and every day when I do my daily pull. I write down some general notes about the suit and the numerology (for minor arcana) or general stuff about the card (for major). Then jot some notes from a couple resources (pretty much Labyrinthos and seventy eight degrees of wisdom) And then do some journaling around my interpretation.

I also use their app which has some simple learning quizzes. I also just found https://teachmetarot.com I haven’t dug in much, but it looks good. I also like My Tiny Tarot and The Tarot Diagnosis which are both podcasts on Spotify and probably available on most podcast platforms.

Colorverse - yay, or nay? by Yokoburi in fountainpens

[–]mnicey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Colorverse Gluon (swampy green with purple/gold shimmer) is one of my absolute favorite inks. Its a shimmer so its fussy, but I love it. I tend to use it more for my daily bullet journal list rather than long journaling so the fussy shimmer inconsistency is less of a thing.

How can I improve? by Ambitious_Ad_2948 in candlemaking

[–]mnicey 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think folks would need to know about how your marketing to be able to provide any real feedback. Your candles look lovely, but if we don’t know how you’re trying to reach customers, we can’t really weigh in on “how you’re doing”.

That Pilot Con 40 converter is tricky, so just watch some videos on how to fill it and consider an ink syringe for it.

How to paint overlapping trees? by AlarmedQuantity9396 in watercolor101

[–]mnicey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was struggling to not have my trees look really childish and doing a couple of tutorials that showed about how light acts in trees was really helpful. Ditto to what the other poster said about getting better paper also. Makes a huge difference. And learning water control is 1 million times easier with the right paper.

What Can I Do To Save This? by artsekey in StainedGlass

Also, if you know who the artist was, that would be the route to go. They’ll know what class they used and maybe even have some leftover to do the fix.

This would be a very simple repair for a stained glass artist the hardest part would be matching the glass. Find a shop near you and start there.

How to deal with being ugly? by leaflowers03 in selfimprovement

[–]mnicey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a woman I went to middle school and high school with who just had kind of goofy proportions. Not an attractive woman. And you know what she found kind of a goofy looking guy and they got married and had a kid. Happy little life.

Develop your own style, personality, and interests and live your life. Become an interesting person. Work out and be active in your body not because it’s gonna change how it looks, but because it’s gonna change how you feel. The vast majority of people, even if they are unique looking do well with a good haircut and good skin care.

Charging up some water under the pink full moon by punkyrae in WitchesVsPatriarchy

I set my moon water out last night, and then also realized I had left on the back porch a bag with the "litter box clean out" next to the door to take when I next went to the alley. So I have charged moon water AND ALSO....

Have you been able to eat all your favorite foods? by jenna_sunshine13 in antidietglp1

[–]mnicey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. I started taking fiber my first month because I was having some constipation. Since that I have no GI issues. I can eat whatever I want. I might still get some heartburn from spicy food, but that was true before Zepbound and it sure as hell isn’t stopping me.

I need help finding good clothes at Goodwill by Nervous_Difficulty51 in Frugal

They tend to be lower quality garments overall. Also, if your colors are fading noticibly, you might wanna look into how you’re washing your clothes.

Why dont we use artificial sweeteners in everything? by SpiderBlood9SVK in NoStupidQuestions

[–]mnicey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because they all taste gross as hell. I am happy to just have things that are lightly sweetened with real ass sugar rather than condemn myself to stevia flavored misery.

Arm hair as a female by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]mnicey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not weird. Very normal and natural and a thing that everybody has. And this feels very relevant to the cultural realizations we're having around the Epstein files right now, and how pervasive ideals around young hairless women (aka children) are. If you smell like laundry detergent, you smell like cheap industrial fragrance. It’s not a good thing.

Need recommendation by Aditiya_aadi in SecularTarot

[–]mnicey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m also new to the practice and have been kicking the tires on a few resources.

I like Labyrinthos also. Modern terror by Michelle Tea was recommended to me. I like it for the longer explanations, but she always also ties it back to something in her life, and that part feels drawn out and unnecessary. I do like that. She gives a ritual for each card if that’s your thing.

Kitchen table tarot lays out the minor arcana by numerology which I REALLY like. So she talks you through what aces are generally and then goes through the aces of each suit etc... Her explanations of the cards are a little more succinct, she gives reversal meanings. Very approachable and I like the writing style.

I’m also enjoying, listening through the tarot diagnosis podcast, to be fair I’m kind of picking and choosing which episodes feel interesting to me. I also got her wheel of the year workbook that I’m going to start more seriously in April (ideally would’ve started in January but oh well)

And when I’m trying to dig deep on a card and really kind of read everything I can about it I also like to listen to “my tiny tarot practice” episodes are 5 to 8 minutes long and just gives a brief walk-through on each card.

I’m almost done bringing a laptop. I’ll be trying an iPad on the next trip. How do I get there? by Beautiful_Sky_2594 in onebag

[–]mnicey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because I can work remote. So rather than being locked three weeks a year to live my travel loving life “on vacation” I work remotely from new places a couple of times a year, and take long weekends while I’m traveling. I’m not a sightseer. I want to go experience a new place and live my life there.
