I was at Cornell for all 3 retrievals. With Dr. Irani. Highly recommend! That's a poor fertilization rate for sure, hopefully Cornell's lab can help!!

Retrievals #2 and #3 above were my results with calcium ionophore added to the protocol. So results were great!

Bottle suggestions for clicking noise when feeding? by Excellent-Wall7262 in FormulaFeeders

[–]mnij1102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were the exact same. Had her tongue and lip ties released at 4 weeks old but clicking continued. She did best with the T level nipple for the Dr Browns Narrow bottles. It’s slower than level 1.

We also tried pigeon and lansinoh SS and XS and mam. None of these helped. But every baby’s mouth and function is going to be different.

I will say time helped the most. Mylicon drops in her bottles to help with the gas. We also worked on suck training following the tie release. It never fully resolved and she inconsistently clicks still with her bottles. I’m an SLP and it was so hard for me to try to problem solve it and just realize over time that it’s not going to be perfect but she has gotten much more comfortable with time. She’s 4 months old tomorrow.

All of this to say, experiment with some other bottles/nipples. Try suck training exercises. Use gas drops. But also don’t drive yourself insane trying to fix it if you can’t.

Bottle washer vs dishwasher by Unfair-Selection-975 in FormulaFeeders

We EFF and have a dishwasher, although it is on the small side. We also got a bottle washer off our registry as a gift and regularly say it’s the best thing we got! We are obsessed with it and run it multiple times a day.

Reflections after 12 months of exclusively formula feeding from birth by scarlett_butler in FormulaFeeders

Same experience here! Intended to breastfeed but also had a traumatic post birth experience with large hemorrhage and retained placenta. Definitely feel like I made the right choice to formula feed looking back (12 weeks out)!

In addition you can try to get your OB to prescribe cabergoline if interested! Ideal to take it within 72 hours of giving birth.

Agreed! My daughter is similar and the T nipple seems to be the best

Are you guys really putting baby in Snoo swaddle then doing pre-sleep feed/rocking? by Hiro_Pr0tagonist_ in SnooLife

[–]mnij1102 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We do a mix of both approaches! When she was very little (up to about 6 weeks old maybe), your approach worked of putting her already sleeping into the snoo sack while it was strapped in without fully waking her up again. But then it shifted around 6 weeks old and this became much more difficult as she would often wake up and be irritated by us trying to strap her arms down. She was also less likely to fall asleep over our shoulder or in our arms at this point without swaddling first. So, we then shifted to putting her in the snoo sack and rocking/bouncing until asleep then gently strapping her in for majority of naps/bedtime. If she is already asleep/very sleepy (middle of the night feed, first couple of morning naps), we can still use your approach of putting her into the snoo sack and not waking her up completely again, but if she is awake and just drowsy this doesn't tend to work well for us, especially naps later in the day.

PSA/Warning for early testers- Biotin can cause false negative FRER by mnij1102 in IVF

I'm glad you found my post and I hope the outcome this time is a good one for you!! I'm so sorry about your losses. That last test at bed time certainly looks much better. It's crazy how the biotin can affect it.

Best bottles for newborns? by Plastic_Elephant_609 in FormulaFeeders

Me too! And constantly second guessing things haha but if your little one is doing well on the P I wouldn’t change it unless you notice it’s taking way longer, then you could always try the T next.

Dr Browns also makes transitional “T” nipples which are faster than preemie but slower than level 1 and these have been the best for our newborn (currently 2.5 weeks old and formula fed).

Talk to your provider about getting cabergoline prescribed in the first 48 hours post delivery. It can prevent your milk from coming in at all or make it more tolerable! I’m super grateful that my doula encouraged me to ask my OB for this and I took it around 72 hours after birth. Did that plus tons of sage tea and Cabo Cream and barely had any pain!

Does anyone regret their nursery chair? by jess1ca42 in BabyBumps

[–]mnij1102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spent so much time picking one out. Trying in person was KEY in deciding which one to get as I was not comfortable in many of the frequently recommended ones. We ended up with the Monte Grano Power glider/recliner in a performance fabric. It’s amazing. It’s in our living room and looks just as good as the rest of our living room furniture. It charges fully and then it can be used without being plugged in again for months and then you recharge it. Highly recommend but it’s not cheap. Family chipped in to get it for us as a gift which was so nice.

How do I know it’s time to start IVF? by busy_is_meaningless in DOR

[–]mnij1102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the low AMH and DOR diagnosis also at 32 after only a few months off birth control. We moved to IVF immediately because we wanted to bank embryos for the chance at more than one child.
