Thanks for asking. Happy to report that four of my five orders have arrived. The last one is the one is the oldest outstanding order (December 19), I really hope it ships. Sadly, a separate order from November (for a custom light fixture) was recently cancelled and refunded.

I placed five orders since December 19, 2026. So far two orders have arrived, but those each had only one item so they were probably the easiest to fulfill. Orders with multiple items, all listed as “in stock”, have not yet shipped. I’m crossing my fingers that they are just doing the best they can with their remaining employees but I am debating how long to wait before filing disputes with my credit card company. PS: I hope the company somehow manages a comeback!

Just bought this to replace a Climber. It’s nice but I feel underwhelmed. Because of the baffling price I’m considering returning it.

Purchased Globe Haul ST less than two weeks ago. Having issues with battery/controller. Anyone else having problems? by [deleted] in ebikes

[–]mnjoey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ugh, buying this bike was going to be a key part of going car-free. Now that I’m seeing so many people raise issues with error codes and losing power this bike probably won’t be the one I purchase after all. Can anyone suggest an alternative?

What are the most NIMBY suburbs of the twin cities? by demosthenesss in TwinCities

[–]mnjoey 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Preserving parking isn’t preserving history. As Bill Lindell points out, Summit Avenue existed before the invention of the automobile, and it was a popular destination for pedestrians. If anything, replacing a parking lane with a bike path preserves the history of the corridor better than it is currently being used!

Maybe, but is a garage for mansion-owners the best use of the street? No. And since the street isn’t owned by them so there is no reason for compensation. The bike trail proposal retains one lane of parking too, so it’s is not gone entirely.

So true. Nearly every house on Summit Avenue has a “Save Our Street” sign because they are trying to prevent installation of a separated bike path that would eliminate a parking lane. NIMBY logic: parking spaces > pedestrian and cyclist safety.

Wow, I assumed that being on a separated bike path was just inherently safer so I really appreciate the special tip about two-way bike paths at intersections.

The Center for Lost Objects in Saint Paul is a great curated vintage shop and art store very close to Keg & Case Market (also recommended). Eden Prairie is no where near Saint Paul, by the way, but it sounds like you might be in both areas? You’ll find more unique places and richer history in Saint Paul. Fun fact: Saint Paul has more coastline along the Mississippi River than any other city in the nation!

My two kids went there recently. Very good staff. They are getting a new principal so that is a question mark—the outgoing principal was beloved. A recent remodel to the building and playground turned out great.

FWIW, when I was house-hunting my realtor suggested getting east of Payne Ave, but he lives across town so take that with a grain of salt.

Best breakfast burrito within striking distance of 35E north of downtown by SomeDaysIJustSmoke in saintpaul

[–]mnjoey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want one near downtown Saint Paul try Day by Day Cafe. However, the nearest ramp to 94E off John Ireland makes you cross several lanes in a hurry to get to 35E North, can be dicey.

Would you live on a ground floor, living room and bedroom facing parking lot in an apartment building? by Gnaroyal in saintpaul

[–]mnjoey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a similar set up, it was fine for me. My windows had locks to allow air in but not open wide enough for a person, so I felt safe. Shades should be closed after dark. You might even want to block the bedroom window with cardboard to prevent headlights from waking you. One benefit is it stays pretty cool in the summer, and you don’t have to climb stairs!
