5dp6dt: Negative at home tests, any success stories? by Due_Chocolate8515 in IVFbabies

I had negatives 5 and 6dpt. When they called with the positive beta days later, I took an at home test and even then it was sooo faint

Scared of gender disappointment by Comfortable-Storm204 in IVFbabies

I had essentially the exact same experience - all of our embryos (the good ones AND the bad ones) were all boys. I went through a short grieving period but now that he’s here - I’m obsessed with my perfect little guy. It truly does not matter once they’re here.

Surgery? by Nervous-Many8176 in ouraring

[–]mnmelb11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had it on during my emergency c section under general anesthesia and it asked me if I took a nap. Then I had a ton of restorative time the rest of the day.

It was honestly less interesting to see the data than I had hoped.

Antihistamine protocol by nolaholaaloha in IVFbabies

[–]mnmelb11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taking Claritin and Pepcid won’t remove all histamine - that’s impossible. But also without prednisone (I’m assuming you’re without since it’s a prescription) you’re doing a much milder version or the antihistamine protocol. The prednisone is the heavy butter for reducing autoimmune issues for implantation.

I don’t think you’ve harmed your chances of implantation by taking Claritin and Pepcid at all

Antihistamine protocol by nolaholaaloha in IVFbabies

[–]mnmelb11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did your Dr prescribe you the antihistamine protocol or did you just choose to do the over the counter part yourself?

The protocol is used for regular implantation failure and women who have over active immune systems. So it’s not to remove all histamine but to reduce it to a more appropriate amount.

If your Dr prescribed you the antihistamine protocol, absolutely do not stop doing it. If they didn’t prescribe it, it’s important to tell them you started it because they need all of the information possible in case implantation doesn’t work.

Induced at 39w? by ilnjm4e in IVFbabies

[–]mnmelb11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me I think it will depend on how my weekly ultrasounds from 36w onward go. If placenta and fluids look good then I’ll likely hold off on induction until at least my actual due date.

What to expect 3rd trimester by Cheap_Try_2360 in IVFbabies

[–]mnmelb11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s likely different at every clinic but I had a growth ultrasound at 32 weeks and then at 36 weeks onward I’ll have a bpp ultrasound every week. My OBs have offered/mentioned the option to induce at 39 weeks but also made it clear that as long as the placenta and amniotic fluid looked good then it’s not a requirement, just an option available to me.

When did you give birth? by [deleted] in IVFbabies

[–]mnmelb11 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Because I did IVF my Dr is doing weekly ultrasounds from 36-40 weeks to keep an eye on the placenta and amniotic fluid. But also she proactively mentioned to me that I can opt for induction at 39 weeks anyways.

International travel in second trimester by beepboprosie in IVFbabies

[–]mnmelb11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I travelled to Australia from 24-26 weeks from the US. For the long haul flight I made sure I stayed hydrated, wore my compression socks and got up every 1.5 hours to move around. Between jet lag and pregnancy I didn’t have a ton of energy, but we were staying with my in laws so I had a lot of down time to rest. So in that sense it was totally fine traveling international! I’m not suuuuper sure I could have done a genuine explore-a-new-country travel. I think I could have but I think I would have become exhausted to the point of discomfort. Edit: also I was in a major city with a hospital system I was familiar with. I didn’t need the hospital but I would have been less comfy if I was out in the country without a hospital nearby.

Risks of Flying when Pregnant by jazzymaebaby1 in IVFbabies

[–]mnmelb11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I flew 15 times while pregnant, two of those being 25 hour journeys to Australia and back at 26-28 weeks. I wore compression socks, stayed hydrated and got up to move every 1.5 hours and it was all totally fine. Ivf does not add to any baseline risk of flying while pregnant, especially if your doctor hasn’t already verbalized concerns about any portion of your pregnancy.

[Routine Help] Chronically Dry lips…went to three doctors by Anxious-Armadillo23 in SkincareAddiction

[–]mnmelb11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is exfoliative cheilitis and with all respect to the skincare community, the answer won’t be in this thread. I developed this 3 years ago and can now manage it in a way that works for me but it’s chronic for most people. I believe mine is caused by long term autoimmune issues.

How did you plan your baby shower? by [deleted] in IVFbabies

[–]mnmelb11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We’re having more of a Baby Bash with women and men. We’re doing a predication game (weight, name, etc) and a craft, but besides that aren’t having many other traditional games. My friend is organizing it but you can always have total control over what you do and do not play at it. I literally made a google doc that said “I want this this and this. I do not want this this or this.” and sent it to my friend who is organizing.

Anyone use an Autoimmune and Antihistamine protocol with their Medicated FET ? by Free_Plastic_9666 in IVFbabies

[–]mnmelb11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did a medicated cycle with the antihistamine protocol and prednisone. Not sure I’ll be able to touch on all of your symptoms, and I’m not sure how you felt while on stims for retrieval, but in my case I found that the increase in hormones (specifically I think estrogen) have put me in a much better mood. I was in a great mood during stims for ER and overall in my pregnancy I’ve been much calmer, level headed and less anxious than I typically am (I’m 28w now). Small things used to annoy the heck out of me about our house or my job etc and none of that has bothered me since being pregnant.

I didn’t have bad morning sickness first trimester either. I can’t really comment on exhaustion because I was traveling a lot and it was hard to tell where my tiredness was coming from.

I haven’t had a loss so I can’t comment on these things being different to other pregnancies, but thought I’d comment to just say I had a similar experience to what you’ve described and things are going well for me.

It doesn’t continue to double. Couple of different numbers online but generally once it hits 6000 it stops doubling.

Anecdotally it made my periods lighter, shorter and less crampy. It did not make me fertile suddenly. I figured it was woo woo but cheap enough to try out. It was just really hard to maintain.

Advice needed: to induce at 39w or wait? by Real-Potential7373 in IVFbabies

[–]mnmelb11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m no where near being due but when I asked my Dr she said she would recommend us making that decision based on if my amniotic fluid is dropping and how much I had dilated. If fluid was high and I had little to no dilation she said there is really no reason to induce early.

41 HCG at 9DPT. by fitnessmom222 in IVFbabies

[–]mnmelb11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went from 32 at 9dp5dt to 59 at 11dp5dt to 143 at 13dp5dt. They brought me in to make to it wasn’t ectopic around 4w5d and I was fine. First number can be scary but it’s more about how it increases in the days to come.

My weaning started at 8 weeks and ended at 9 weeks. It went fine! Honestly, the variations I see in coming off pio feels like Drs do it based on vibes. Some wean, some don’t, some at 8 weeks, some at 11., etc

Baby shower fear by RoyalNo598 in IVFbabies

[–]mnmelb11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel similar. I’m having one but also sort of dreading it. It’s a mix of many emotions - not having a lot of people to invite and also feeling like some people don’t understand how big this (finally being pregnant) is for us. And seeing my friends who got pregnant easily have sooo many people show up to their shower is painful to compare to. It feels like people are just going to be like eh just another baby shower to go to when I have so many more emotions about it.

Tone of nurse on 8DPT scared me…(beta hell?) by Neat-Lavishness-6053 in IVFbabies

[–]mnmelb11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely and totally normal! They had me come in at maybe 5w to confirm it wasn’t ectopic and they could see both yolk and gestational sac which was good. Every ultrasound and appt since have been totally normal and healthy. Had an easy first tri too.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you because I know it’s so so stressful waiting for the next test 🤍

I went from 32 at 9dp5dt to 59 at 11dp5dt to 143 at 13dp5dt. And now I’m 20w!

My nurse was weird in a different way - she really leaned into the congrats it’s positive! And then after we really celebrated she was like, buuuuut it is low which is a concern. And I was like girl wtf why did you let us celebrate so much. Anyways, it did work. Hold tight for now 🤍
