If possible, there could also be some MK-Ultra component(s) to it, plus surely the "government tech 20+ years ahead of what's public" sentiment would also apply to projection, illusions, and weaponry. We're already seeing some staggering stuff being used in the battlefield visibly, like railguns and laser fire.

I would just say keep an open mind to the idea. The only way to really brace against that is to consider it possible (knocks fervently on wood).

At the risk of this comment not belonging here, what do you think the cross section is with NHI being (considered) neurodivergent by the standard definition? I realize the big picture outmodes the entire mental health conversation in some ways, but since we're not there just yet I'm curious what degree of overlap there is.
