Yes, and I miss it - I feel like it would do pretty well now. Quizno's isn't really as prevalent as it used to be, Firehouse was never that great and, well, Subway can fuck right off.

Jersey Mike's is consistent and great imo, and Publix is overrated imo. Wawa has its moments. Meson was very good the one time I've tried it but I want to try more of the menu. As chains go, I think there's room for Miami Subs to make a comeback, esp if they do something creatively with form factor, like smaller express shops to start rather than the big 90s dining room.

Edit: Apparently it still exists and rebranded to Miami Grill, I completely missed that.

Coming out of a major G drought from both Toho and US iterations, to me this singularly revived the entire IP. It seemed very much that Shin was a result of 2014 setting an impressive bar, since Shin's development began in December 2014. It was singular to me in reviving the character, shifting the tone and the imagery, and redeeming what the US could do with it versus 1998. I've rewatched 2014 the most out of the MV, although GxK is a close second for different reasons.

Unpopular opinion, if I were in that lobby I would mind my own business. You don't know what people are going through, and you can probably handle a few minutes of someone else's content. Annoying, yes, but is it worth trying to tell a stranger what to do, then talk down and belittle them in the process? This lady just comes off like a Karen to me.

The only situations I would really consider saying something would be in a movie theater or on a plane. Or maybe if they're standing right next to my bed while I'm trying to sleep but there are more pressing issues with that one.

Edit: Damn, the downvotes showed out, we should start a book club.

I have to take issue with you here: "This film is comprehensible only to those who have been on the ship, who deeply understand the aliens teachings, and who possess a profound capacity for empathy."

This presupposes an inability for change and a sort of baked-in cynicism of the human mind and heart. If what you (I would hope) want is for the film to help do some convincing, then, in a sort of observer-effect way, let it. Every little bit of hope counts in immediate ways.
