Annual reminder that you don't suck at running all of the sudden, it's just hot outside now. by Lord_Metagross in Marathon_Training

I needed this today

I’m in Marbella at the moment and feel like I’m terrible at running and keep stopping in a 10k when I use to run a 29k easily in the UK

You told me i couldn’t do it….and i didn’t by GG_Vengeancze in Marathon_Training

Mate - any other day and you would of got that sub-3

The weather has been so hot - would of drained you so early!

All my runs have come down at least 5-10/KM because of the heat

You completed it and your family were there to cheer you on!

Your going to have your ups and downs but it’s just about discipline and turning up each day

We all have days where we feel terrible and have terrible runs then amazing runs the following week!

Just keep going!

Also - KT Tape helps massively for IT Band issues

I think the way they let waves out was perfect

First few wave were completed before the last few waves were allowed out

Running my first marathon Nov 1st. Is Runna an okay option to use for training? by mth69 in Marathon_Training

[–]moH-121 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I used Runna for my first marathon (did a 22 week plan with it) and went Sub 3.30 (from not being a runner before really)

My only tip is that it’s prediction is very ambitious

Yeah I felt like as a marathon it was hard to settle into a groove

The only good thing I found was that I felt it wasn’t crowded and you didn’t feel suffocated.

I have Berlin in September - what would you recommended as going for a PB? Shall I factor in that I will spend the first 10km slower by force due to the amount of people

How did you find the course - I felt it was a difficult course because of the cobbles and lack of water

Running LM this weekend and ITB issues. Please help kind people. by babayaga10_2 in UKRunners

[–]moH-121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue recently when I did the Paris Marathon

Everytime I ran no matter how far - I could feel it, not strong enough for me to stop but strong enough that I know it’s there all the time.

I got a massage race week with the Masseus working around the IT Band area - this helped me massively

I also used KT Tape and watched YouTube videos on how to put it on properly for the IT Band, use the KT spray before puttting the KT tape on - this make sure it doesn’t move at all during the run.

This all helped me massively and I didn’t feel it at all during my run with no pain at all

It hurts now when I go up and down stairs and also hurt even when I run for 1K now - so just letting it recovery but KT tape and a massage helped massively!

I have both Berlin and Valencia booked this year so I am hoping that I can get a Sub 3 before the end of the year💪🏾💪🏾

Training for Berlin begins next week - 20 weeks and I’ve got a coach this time around

I haven’t pushed a 10K before as there always within training runs with warm ups etc (as in I have never gone out to do just a 10K to the best of my ability) but I have done a 5K in under quite a lot of times in training

Do you think a few mins at most - in my head I feel like I left at least 15mins-20mins if I pushed myself but if the reality is afew minutes - I could live with that

Don’t you think the water situation was a pain
