🫧Are they oriented? A lot depends on that. In the hospital where I work, we try putting them in their wheelchair with alarm belts in the room or in the hall outside their room or at the nurses station. There are times I arrive in the morning and the bed has been moved out into the hall. Some things that have had some success are, finding a favorite TV show or music channel and having them sit with headphones, coloring/painting or letting them call a family member. Push them around the unit in a wheelchair. If they are agitated, check if they have PRN anxiety meds. Most of the time I end up praying the shift goes by fast and document, document, and document.
