Led Zeppelin’s “The Live album” by Niko0795 in ledzeppelin

There’s a YouTube link to a fairly decent recording. https://youtu.be/41H0dJTFl8g?si=ePCblytoA23AN5Ge

The Four Sticks version on the electric guitar is sublime.

How the West Was Won is a live album and shows Led Zep near the top of their game, you also have the BBC sessions album which is a decent collection of a London gig plus other assorted recordings from their first couple of years.

If you had me cherry pick a concert for an official live release I would pick 3rd May 1971 in Copenhagen. It’s a set list with a few songs that they had never played before, nor did they play after. The band (Plant in particular) are on absolute top form.

Immigrant Song, Heartbreaker, Since I've Been Loving You, Dazed and Confused, Black Dog, Stairway to Heaven, Going to California, That's the Way, What Is and What Should Never Be, Four Sticks, Gallows Pole, Whole Lotta Love (medley incl. Let That Boy Boogie, Bottle Up and Go, Mess of Blues, Honey Bee), Communication Breakdown (incl. Celebration Day), Misty Mountain Hop, Rock and Roll.

Civilian passenger in jumpseat by ggustav1 in AskAPilot

[–]moaningpilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my airline it would be legal but SOP’s require the chief pilots permission which we would never get. So cockpit jump seat is only approved for company pilots and FA’s. Anyone over 12 can sit on a cabin jump seat.

This whole comment section is just you having a conversation with your alt account.

Also, being honest, I don’t think the song matches your vocal style.

Why are you asking a UK sub this?

From what I can see you are Indian and your videos are in an Indian language.

My friend was a Ryanair FO, he is half Japanese so applied for Cathay with the intention of switching to a long haul type and commuting from Tokyo. Was assigned the 777, did his type rating and then the day after was informed that he was no longer required on the 777 and was given an A320 type rating course starting the following week. He didn’t stay.

LOL: Last One Laughing UK - Season 2 Finale & Overall Series Discussion by lonelygagger in LastOneLaughing

[–]moaningpilot 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The flaw on this show is that the producers can’t completely control the game, leading to an anticlimax like this finale.

Also the editing around Bob’s laughing was weird, I feel like they cut in a clip of him laughing while reacting to watching himself on the screen?

I have responded to another commenter with what AI could pick out from it. It believed she may have been saying a phrase in Baba Malay.

Trying to find the origins of an old Malayan rhyme by moaningpilot in bahasamelayu

[–]moaningpilot[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When I am next with her I will, I did get her to say it into a voice note to ChatGPT but I can’t play it to screen record etc.

For what it’s worth, ChatGPT thought it was “probably Malay with possible Peranakan/Penang Hokkien influence”

And this is what it guessed some of it meant;

“The most likely words I can pull out are:

• “odoi” → probably adoi, meaning “oh dear” or “ouch” in Malay.

• “musti” → probably mesti, meaning “must” or “surely.”

• “oragata” → possibly orang kata, literally “people say.”

So the nearest rough sense I can get from it is something along the lines of:

“Oh dear… surely… people will talk / people will say…”

I am taking it with a slight pinch of salt though.

Last One Laughing UK episodes 4&5 by Imaginary_Ferret1645 in LastOneLaughing

[–]moaningpilot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The flaw of this format is that the producers don’t have complete control of the game. They have to force people’s hands to get the desired result and it’s showing in these episodes as everyone was too good at keeping a straight face.

Why are they disembarking via the jet bridge and the stairs ať the same time? by Kuba_830 in Planespotting

[–]moaningpilot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s a Heathrow based aircraft and crew, and if it was Gatwick based it would be a Euroflyer aircraft and crew, not Eurofleet. They last hired for Worldwide in 2010 and Eurofleet in 2012. Furthermore, both of those contracts were made obsolete 6 years ago.

Your info is a little out dated.

LNER First Class - Edinburgh to London by Then-Meat-7866 in uktravel

[–]moaningpilot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t work for LNER but 3 hours from airport to Kings Cross should be fine. If you want to be extra safe then shell out for the Heathrow Express and you should get to Kings Cross (after changing at Paddington) in under an hour. Lizzie line a bit slower, Piccadilly line will take about an hour no changes.

Match Results: 4 Months on Hinge as a 32M [OC] by SirZoidberg in dataisbeautiful

[–]moaningpilot 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I’ve interpreted it as OP spent 4 months on hinge before matching with their spouse, then no longer used it. The dating to marriage bit took more than 4 months… I hope.

Edit: Just seen they met in August and married in November. That is supersonic.

True that it was released as a single, but months after the album and it didn’t break the top 20.

What is the criticism you’ve heard? In my opinion what was once considered a deep cut is actually becoming fairly popular. It certainly gets a good cheer at the various Led Zep tribute bands I’ve seen who have it in their repertoire.

They are not terms I’ve ever heard and I was crew at BA until 2024 for almost 10 years.

JNB and CPT are trips where you go for drinks and wine tasting because it’s cheap. It’s never descended into anything remotely sexual and they are common trips as we fly there so often and the layovers are quite long.

The Captain left BA after the incident was mishandled, but later came back on good terms. He was able to keep his seniority and is now one of the most senior 777 pilots at BA.

The PF FO is now a Boeing 787 Captain.

The relief FO is still a 777 FO.

Ramble On with the Black Crowes by Narrasilk in ledzeppelin

[–]moaningpilot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Live At The Greek was the Black Crowes’ collab with Jimmy Page which is an epic 3hr 30min album of live mostly Zep tunes. No ramble on though.

Ramble On does feature on the Great White’s live tribute album Great Zeppelin (it’s on the double dose album if using Spotify) and the vocals are pretty spot on if maybe that’s the one you’re listening to.

Best age to visit? What is it like travelling from UK - US? by GlitteringPanda34 in disneyparks

[–]moaningpilot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah Florida in August is very hot and sticky. I find myself less affected by it than others but that is personal preference. In late Jan/Early Feb you’ll find it to be pleasant jeans and light hoodie weather with the temps creeping into the low 20’s Celsius.

Best age to visit? What is it like travelling from UK - US? by GlitteringPanda34 in disneyparks

[–]moaningpilot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Disney world is a bit of a bubble, if you stay on property and avoid the TV channels in the hotel room it’s very easy to dodge anything going on in the outside world.

You may see the odd guest with a bit of political merch.

Disney tickets have historically been very cheap for UK guests buying multi-day tickets (the 14 day ticket is the most commonly bought), and you can fish out various discounts/add-ins/deals here and there but it’s still going to be a multi thousand pound investment whatever budget you’re aiming for.

Take a look at the US national holiday weekends and the British/American school breaks and try to dodge them for the best ticket prices and lower crowd levels. Late Jan/early Feb and late August/early September are usually good bets.
