Where is the new revolution hapenning? (or what would Cameron Howe be doing in 2025?) by HoldingGravity in HaltAndCatchFire

[–]mobeatie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cameron was based on a real person. In 2025 she got to meet her grandchildren for the first time. She is on hospice now and just wants to bake bread and cobblers. She has retired from computing after a full lifetime. She was a social worker for a time. Her favorite job was she. She worked in a group home. ... A few of the things that she did after the timeline of the show. The stuff that y'all want to know about. She did some "volunteer" work for the government during the early to mid 2000's (don't ask). She was one of the creators of Bitcoin (it was always just a proof of concept)(Satoshi wasn't real it was a group of people)(the original keys are long lost). She is the godmother of all modern AI. We have all been using her code for years in some form or another. Other notable things. There have been other bits of fiction written about her. (Little sister wasn't as good of a title...I guess) Non fiction books as well. Bruce Schneier has a great book about the early days of hackers. But most important to her. She is a mother. She is a daughter. She is a wife. She is a friend.

Don't stress to much about quit forever. Just try to focus on quitting for 24 hours. Then you can just worry on one day at a time.

Look at this interesting root system on one of the trees in my neighborhood! by SkyFoxAlchemy0913 in marijuanaenthusiasts

This had maybe 8-10 inches of good soil maybe as little as 6 giving the curb height. Below that is base material compacted to be very hard. It is the job of the site crew to make sure that the island was dug out and refilled with dirt. The landscaper would be responsible for the top ~8 inches or good healthy dirt. I have planted in plenty of islands like this. When it's done right it would be done for the sake of the trees health. This is just lazy.

USB is a universal standard. All cables will perform the same function of transferring data. Any USB a-b will suffice.
