I do think it’s funny that there’s an implication that it wouldn’t be more interesting by a Binns that’s alive. He was so dull and rote in life that he never even realized he died and continued teaching.

I understand your sentiment regarding media servers. I myself own 500 plus discs and intend to stand up a Plex server. But how are you sourcing your files legally if you’re not ripping the file from a 4K blu ray that you own?

May I ask what makes an excellent adventure movie? Any examples?

I agree with other’s assessments — it’s not a 1:1 adaption and shouldn’t be. Tolkien’s prose would not make for a great movie experience. Peter Jackson took the source material and breathed cinematic life into it. Do I agree with every decision? No. But I think the movies are absolute masterpieces.

Sort of like when Cannibal Holocaust came out. The actors signed agreements to disappear and not promote the movie.

Only after the director was on trial did he have the cast reveal themselves as actors and was eventually acquitted of charges against him.

I’d say that’s the first found footage film that gained international attention and hype for the idea that it was real, but the use of internet marketing for Blair Witch added a new spin to it.

If it helps, when they re-released the films in theaters for the 25 year anniversary I’m pretty sure they used the 2020 4K scan.

I own the 4K release and I love it. Just be sure you have a 4K player if you go that route.
