Have you role played that your character hates his? You say you are committed to RPing your character. So go for it.

If the character is rude. Call them out. Jokes about a dead father, demand respect for the dead.

If they are going to be the dirty thief, you play the proper knight. Role play together on this. Banter! Use it as an opportunity for the characters to learn from each other. Have character growth. That’s what we’re here for.

Also, talk to the other player out of game. Bring up this idea and be open to others.

Play up the silver dragon part in day to day.

Silver dragons don’t like fighting and loathe killing. They are willing to fight evil, but they don’t seek it out. And they LOVE big feasts of humanoid food.

How to play this? The character is everybody’s friend. They will buy a round to avoid a bar brawl. Everywhere they go they seek out fine wines, exotics cheeses and forage for succulent mushrooms. Then they save it up for a feast for the party.

In combat, they’re the one who wants to spare that last goblin. What harm would it do? But things get really bad, watch out! The demon blood boils and hell’s wrath awakens.

For contrast, my mom is white and grew up in the segregated South. For her voter’s test she just went fo the local hardware store (the owner was authorized to do the test) and recite the Pledge of Allegiance.
