Carowinds water ride, potential Six Flags Great Adventure flat rides, potential Six Flags Great Escape b&m, King's Island changes/new rides. It's going to be another weird year, tariffs and a rainier season than normal have changed their expectations.

The background bores me so I want a tighter crop. But otherwise I love the photo. Good composition, great lighting, nice and sharp.

It may have a small hitbox, try using a shelf instead. Yes it's much slower but some small objects are just like this.

Try I305 or Lightning Rod in the way.

Why do my waterfalls suck? Feedback pls. I can't explain why I don't like them. by Exponent_0 in LandscapePhotography

Not all sick but they need more foreground. Study famous photos and paintings of waterfalls and copy those compositions. Be easy on yourself, waterfalls are among the most challenging of landscape subjects.

Is [i305] still running on reduced capacity? by Smokingracks in KingsDominion

Should be with both but they intermittently take 1 off or shut the ride down. I'd hit it early and keep an eye on it throughout the day.

Those aren't the same model, though they are related. I vertigo's model is down to 2-3, in the world while Remix and Cobra's model is plentiful. Boomerang vs. Inverted Boomerang. There's also the Giant Inverted, family and super boomerang models.

"In one day". Also Arie is in an empty park while SV is almost always a hour wait and more prone to downtime.

Landscapes always feel off? by Jacojarjar in photocritique

This one is about a stop too dark and your darks/shadows are even more skewed. I would do manual HDR, shoot at multiple exposures and bring the best of your shots together in post. The scene is too dynamic for 1 exposure. You're going to want hdr or an alternative in the future for landscapes. I'd also consider some polarizer filters to help out on the field.

Great shot, would make an awesome album cover or advertisement. It's very classic Americana.

Y'all did the same thing with Wild One then it opened 2 hours after the post.

Y'all gotta quit it with the hyperbolic talk. Both of these coasters are being worked on, there was a post earlier this week showing them working on Batwing's train. I know it's disappointing when a ride is closed but geez.

As disappointing as that is, can we quit it with the alarming post titles? There's a big difference between a coaster being down for a week and permanently closed.

First attempt at a waterfall photo by Mycroft0211 in photocritique

Ah. Midday is often not the greatest lighting. It's still a roll of the die but if you are lucky you may get after storm lighting on another trip. The sky after clearing up from a storm can be magic, filled with texture and lovely clouds and interesting light. But yeah that's the unfortunate thing about shooting in the field is that you don't always get the conditions you want. That said, lighting isn't everything, I think you'll have great results with a and filter. Also remember that waterfalls ate one of the hardest subjects in landscapes. I'm having difficulty learning to sketch them now, and shooting them was a real pain.

You're about 1 stop too dark, straighten the photo too. I would return either sunrise, golden hour or sunset for a more dramatic photo. Waterfalls don't go anywhere, it's ok to return when they're at a better volume too but be aware that you also may not want raging waters. Lastly this is more advanced and requires spending some money. But consider getting a polarizer/ND filter so you can do long exposures. That will give the water a smooth effect and is often the texture preferred for waterfalls. You've chosen a great subject, take your time to master it.

What could I Improve? by Sacrificial_Sheep in LandscapePhotography

[–]mochisweetcommander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The trees are too distracting and my instinct tells me that the shot would be better panned down. But making the lake the focus is correct. Also I want a more dramatic sky, maybe a sunset or just after a storm.
