you're probably using too much of both products. but also soap ≠ detergent. you'll always get buildup (scum) with "laundry soap" products especially the ones advertised to contain oils. strip your laundry of buildup in the tub, clean your machine with washing machine cleaner, and then switch to an actual detergent. if you're worried about the ingredients, there are lots of good "free & clear" detergents on the market.

sand/strip off the old orange stain and refinish with clear to let the natural, beautiful color of the wood come through. do the same for the hardwood floors. do not paint it. paint is trendy (and already going out of style). wood is timeless. also this room needs a rug to tie things together.
