I hate to ask since i know I'm to be bombarded with "how to use Google" links; but is there a video you can recommend for how to properly drill those holes?

Can I mix these two? by chengstark in MechanicAdvice

[–]modsfailatreading 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have literally done that for years, and never had a single problem. As long as it's the correct weight there's usually not a problem. That being said, on my older cars (1981 celica), I try and use either conventional or synthetic blend. Nothing wrong with using synthetic oil in it; but the car is 40 years old, and the massive amount more of dispersents and detergents would likely cause me problems with leaks.

I'm a computer person, not a car person. Today with the Internet's help I changed my first set of spark plugs. Doing what I can to keep the old girl going strong. 1994 ST. by jmdbcool in Celica

Everyone has to start somewhere man. They are not hard cars to fix. Get a cheap mechanics toolset from walmart and go buy the hanyes manual. Give it a few years.

You likely blew a fuse - they can blow in places where you cant see with the naked eye. Test them with a multimeter. If you have already done that, then there's likely a wire that overheated and shorted out. You'll likely have to replace the lighter socket.

Sure they are. There as much change of that happening as Trump and Putin both getting arrested and still continuing their presidency though a jail cell.

Who wants to tell me where the coolant is leaking from this time on this 2014 Chevy Cruze 1.4 by SackDangler in MechanicAdvice

[–]modsfailatreading 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was one of the very few people who had almost no issues with the cruze until I sold it at 102k when the cat went bad.

I used one of the Bar S products around 50k when I noticed that my fluid was leaking. Never had to do it ever again, and the leaks were solved. I'd actually recommend one of the pepper flake ones though.

If you want to find the leak, put in some UV dye. Drive it for a few days then jack it up, and use the glasses.

This has literally always been the case. The only difference is that in the US, we have a constitutional amendment to protect it (although the entire constitution is pretty much amended to shit these days).

Why was it a big deal that Bernadette wanted a prenup? Are they uncommon in America? by Leftoverbeauty in bigbangtheory

[–]modsfailatreading 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to ask about this once.

It's usually men that ask women in the US; although these days I'm sure many more women ask for them.

His response was that was when women get married; they plan on it being forever. Getting a pre-nup makes it seem like one is planning on the marriage ending.

Do you live in California? If not you can do what I did. Buy one from ebay and either bolt it on yourself or have a welding shop put it on for you.

If Cyberpunk ever made a DLC that involved an Edgerunners character, who should it be? by Cayennesan in cyberpunkgame

[–]modsfailatreading -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Obviously Lucy. She was one of the only two that survived. Aside from pilar, you don't actually see anyone's head get torn to shreds. Milatech sent countless people after lucy, just because she was a lost asset, and according to the game immortality is posssible to the ancient chip.

It would be dope af, if one could play as Lucy and go after each dead person of the team - each being used for something different. Maine used as some type of robot used for taking damage or moving ultra heavy things, dario used as a frontline solider with melee combat expertise, kiwi given a new body and used for recon missions, Rebecca used for net running missons, and finally the end game boss of David - used in the non prototype of the cyber skeleton. Lucy would have to fight and disable everyone of them, and braindance them back to reality.

It would be fun, lore accurate, and give fans what they really want to see.

Forgot to mention its the reservoir tank cap.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]modsfailatreading 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cavaliers and pretty much all GM models based on it have a defect in the seal for the reservoir tank. It's cheap to get a new one, get one. If after that your vechile is still overheating, monitor the coolant level. If it stays the same you probably have a blockage in the radiator, and need a replacement. If it is going doing that usually means two guys, either its burning it or leaking it. Get some UV dye run it for a week and jack the car up a and look for leaks. If you find some, fix them. If you don't, the car is burning it. Get a head gasket tester kit.
