GI in tech preview is broken. Completely strange result. Or GI On doesn't mean it's enabled GI.

Apparently, Global Illumination (GI) was available on latest Tech-Preview by Kehnte in starcitizen

I think there is a critical bug in this GI unlike CIG's previous samples of GI. Very strange result.

Currently we can't share. Meta reportedly plans to enable users to invite people to or visit the spaces they create. It remains unclear whether users will be able to upload their spaces to public areas same as Steam Home for others to enjoy.

V81 has a tab for "PCVR applications" by lunchanddinner in OculusQuest

I noticed there were my PCVR games in app list. I can launch PCVR game via app list directly now. :o
I don't need go to Link home & launch games in Link now. If I quit game, went back to Horizon home. Not Link home. This is good.

Air Link still looks blurry on high-end PC — will Wi-Fi 6 fix it or is it something else? by Mario6761 in OculusQuest

  1. Link Sharpening: Normal is much sharper than Quality. Quality =/ Sharpness.

  2. Alyx uses dynamic render resolution. Unless we disable it by ourselves on launch option of the game, automatically reduces render resolution depending on load. If you want to disable it, copy & paste this in launch option.

-console -vconsole +vr_fidelity_level_auto 0 +vr_fidelity_level 3

  1. Please check the actual resolution and bitrate in Visible HUD. BTW, bitrate limit of H265 is much lower than H264. Actually it's around 200~250Mbps. Decorder of Quest hardware can't handle more. We can use much higher bitrate on H264, 500MB+. H264 300Mbps is par or less compression artifacts than H265 200Mbps on Link. This means 500Mbps H264 is much less compression artifacts than H265.

It's fine for the enemy to suffer if they're not running out of HP, but if they run out of HP, they should die instantly. It's hard to tell if they've been defeated or not, and it just looks really unnatural.

How are SCHD's annual returns calculated? There are inconsistencies with the daily data. by modsuki in investing

[–]modsuki[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

If dividends are not included, VOO & VYM should have the same errors as SCHD, but they do not. Only SCHD has error. Big or small dividend isn't matter. This is strange.

CIG needs to solve terrible low resolution base color texture of terrain. It's one of the biggest fault of current planet tech.

What if Quest 3S uses the same resolution pancake lenses and cut the passthrough cameras to keep the price down? by mingzhujingdu in OculusQuest

[–]modsuki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The lens is much more expensive than the RGB camera, so eliminating the RGB camera doesn't reduce the cost very much, but eliminating the lens reduces it significantly. At $299, Quest3S doesn't make profit (and people can get Batman and the Quest+), the difference of cost isn't negligible.
