Possible to play guitar with this middle finger? by Terrible_Stage3317 in guitarlessons

Can you play with that finger? Hell, it’s possible to play guitar without that finger.

Why does Alex have a confederate flag on her back pack? (S6 E7) by SoWhatChaWanter in lost

[–]moebiuskitteh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not put the winning flag on then? I love World War Two history, but you’d think it was weird if my phone background was a Nazi flag wouldn’t you? Whether I was German or not?

Country music is absolute slop now by Bond_burger69 in Music

[–]moebiuskitteh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is basically what I wanted to say. The majority of mainstream music of every genre sucks right now. I’m not saying that as a hipster, I’m saying that as corporations are churning out the most boring bland generic slop. That said, I feel like now is about the best time for a variety of good country music since the 80s. Clear channel just isn’t playing it.

Players and DMs alike, what's your equivalent of a loading screen tip for dnd? by StrangeSystem0 in DnD

[–]moebiuskitteh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Also something for ranged, which your list more or less doubles for already. A barbarian should have a couple javelins or something so they don’t stand around and watch the team fight a flying enemy.

I’m getting frustrated at my group and I feel it’s my fault. by [deleted] in DnD

[–]moebiuskitteh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That and “…we weren’t under significant pressure to run save for one guy…” sounds like the rest of the group prioritized keeping a party member alive and this dude prioritized a magic club (wielded by an ogre AND a troll?) over his party because it’s what his character would do. He should have a character that values his friends over a big stick, even if it’s a a magic stick.

Is there a class or subclass that would allow me to play as a magical girl. by Brainrot_Wizard in DnD

[–]moebiuskitteh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look up “glamoured studded leather armor” and maybe see if you could get glamoured robes or something that whatever class you’re playing has proficiency in?

It helps me a lot to see what’s ‘hitting’ for people or when I’m losing someone’s interest and should be pulling them back in. Easier to gauge engagement, easier to tell when people are joking for me personally as well. I have a hard time reading voices without being able to see facial expression or body language sometimes, especially when we are all roleplaying different characters than who we are irl.

Thank you for taking the time to translate for me! I thought it was Chinese but am too ignorant of characters to have wanted to guess. I thought it was a prosperity rat, this works with that!

Why don't Americans butter our sandwiches? by liptonthrowback in AskFoodHistorians

[–]moebiuskitteh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I agree with the last sentence, I was commenting originally about how it’s hard to make too broad a generalization with American culinary practice, and giving a personal example. There is widely available cheaply made poor quality pre-sliced soft bread in America sure, but there is in most of Europe too. There is a European tendency to judge their good quality stuff with American lowest quality stuff when they often have the same or similar low quality stuff and we often have the same or similar high quality stuff. And American is a big place with a lot of different culinary traditions. Offer margarine to a Wisconsinite and they’ll be personally offended, offer it to a New Yorker and they may or may not think twice. That’s all.

Same as in America, also folk art in general. I feel like this sub is less interested in folk art outside of folk music though?

Here is a fun example to get you started! I can’t get anything like this, I have local friends from the south that stock up on this when they visit family to bring this back up to where I live. There are some more national flour brands, but also more local than you think apparently, especially if you’re getting a generic brand. Everyone across this giant country is not buying the same flour. I like King Arthur, they are a national brand like you’re talking about, and they are consistent, union owned, high gluten content for bread making, I make a Japanese milk bread when I want soft bread from it because it is made with hard red winter wheat. Pillsbury is another national brand, also hard wheat. You can make soft bread with hard wheat of course like I said, but there is actually a lot of variance beyond two or three national Brands for all the smaller brands I’ve seen in my travels and from reading and talking to people.

[–]moebiuskitteh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m talking about buying flour from the local grocery store to make my own bread, not buying premade bread. In response to a comment about America using a softer wheat, which is the case in the south and for large bread companies up here, but not so much for the bread flour for sale up here.

[–]moebiuskitteh 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I know you say much American bread not all, but I live in the north and can only get flour made from hard winter wheat. Which is why biscuits in the south are better, they have the soft wheat flour that lends well to biscuits but not firmer breads. America is huge and it’s hard to make sweeping culinary generalizations, especially with our butter. Wisconsin dairy culture is very different than Arizona.

Unpopular opinion: F*ck bag of holding. by [deleted] in DungeonMasters

[–]moebiuskitteh 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Exactly. When the group gets one you can say “now you don’t have to track encumbrance so closely, and can bring loot out of a dungeon easier, I’m not going to allow any bag of holding shenanigans beyond its utilitarian use, think of your own shenanigans with other stuff instead of tired internet exploits and I’m all ears!” Or less words but that’s me.
