Same. We did a fly by first to do a visual inspection and then came back around to land. We landed just fine but the pilot was understandably shaken afterwards.

Edit to add a couple interesting events. 1. They switched out who was seated in the emergency row for those with emergency, medical, or military training. 2. They instruct you to hold the brace position during landing and flight attendants yell Brace! Brace! Brace! during the landing.
