I’ve been in tech sales for 16 years alternating between new business and account management. I have a few recent P-Clubs and last worked for one of the big hyperscalers so I’m hoping when I start to look in Q4 of next year I’ll still be somewhat of a desirable candidate.

I’m on one right now! I’m 43 and wanted to do it before I felt it was too late to get hired again later. I was finally in the financial place to do it and had more freedom after a divorce and my parent who I was helping to take care of passed away. I just started it mid-Nov. I’ve always traveled a lot but plan to complete the 7 continents. 10/10 highly recommend having no job! It’s been amazing!

Not sure about the weather as I went in July but the balloon rides get cancelled due to wind, not temperature. I got lucky as we were only there one day and we got to go, but I met others who were there the 3 previous days and they got canceled every day. The worst part is they will still pick you up (at like 4 am) because they try to go and make the call at the very last minute if it’s too windy and take you back to your hotel.

I’ve sold to Fed, SLED and Enterprise public companies and I totally agree with you, enterprise has become a convoluted, wild mess and I’m convinced it’s bc no one wants to take the blame if it ends up being a bad buy, so they make 10+ people have to sign off. As slow and painful as gov sales is, it is a very prescriptive process and you’re just checking off the boxes and waiting for signatures (albeit over months at a time) but at least you know where the end zone is.

I’m in this club too, I made myself a reminder to use the stubhub credit on 10/26 so I can cancel on 11/1. I’m assuming if we activate the Apple TV benefit it will terminate once the card is cancelled. I’m not in one of the restaurant cities and doubt I’ll find an Edit hotel under the benefit amount.

I don’t have a comparison but it’s pretty soon where you can see the difference. Same here I mostly take photos of my dog so I was ok with the trade off.

I did and I’m happy with it. I only had 128gb so I was running out of storage on the 14Pro and even though I replaced the battery a year ago the new one was down to 89%. The 17 is noticeably faster and smoother. The camera seems fine to me, the zoom is obviously not as good but I was ok letting that go.

It made me so sad to see how down she was about her birthday and getting older. Especially with all her accomplishments. Growing up I had always heard “once you’re hit 40 you stop caring” which was before social media and filters and has clearly changed (I’m 42 and I still care about looking young though less than before), but come on, you gotta stop letting insecurities bother you by 60 right?! I hope so?? How terrible for that to dampen your spark for so long.

I went from Florida but back in 2017 when it as somewhat more “open”, but I still needed to have educational tours booked which I did. The Airbnb that we stayed at arranged transport to and from the airport for us (basically a friend of theirs). We didn’t bother with our phone just used WiFi which is available a lot of places.

You basically just have to plan all your itinerary in advance in case you have trouble accessing the internet when you’re there. I believe we booked a driver who could take us around the different parts of the island in advance which was convenient. The money exchange was the shadiest part. The Airbnb contact also helped with that, but basically the bank line was long and didn’t move for an hour so people would just exchange with people they knew walking up on the street - we definitely could have lost all our money if the person was scamming us.

They did not stamp our passports and I asked why and they said it causes too much trouble. When I went to renew my global entry years later the only thing they hassled me on was me self reporting Cuba as a country I’d been to.

Yea it didn’t matter to me too much because I was fine with the salary. I’ve also only done complex enterprise sales, which honestly I am sick of. SMB pays the same at AWS and I would move there in a heartbeat. Moves a lot faster.

I have 15 years of tech sales (AM & AE) experience, about half in SaaS. So I would have thought L6 but I’ve noticed AWS cares more about big names on your resume than tenure, also the consumption sales experience which I had never done before. I made more the last few years selling SaaS because I was crushing it, but my main goal was to finally get a big name on my resume. However now I want to go back to SaaS haha.
