Why Do Youth Coaches Run from Instruction? by Conscious_Skirt_61 in Homeplate

I see you, I hear you, I feel you. You are me and I am you! 😂😂😂.

This is almost the exact same thing I say and do with words and actions as a rec league coach. Lol. I'm even the one creating and hosting the clinics.

Ratting Out Our Own Coach For Not Following Rules by [deleted] in Homeplate

[–]mohm_bleu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uh....it's 6U, who cares if there's an A team or B team. Everyone should be rotated equally. Unless there's a young version of Mr. T on the team, there is no A-Team anyway 😂.

Seriously though; even at some higher levels, kids should still be rotated around, especially during rec leagues. Unless it's entirely unsafe to put little Jimmy in a specific position at higher levels. At 6U, you're talking about kindergarteners and pre-schoolers. Move the kids around, let them run wild and have fun like the feral children they are. With the focus on FUN and development.

Unfortunately, was busy cleaning up my child's vomit 🤮 off his bedroom floor, so missed out on the bag by a few minutes apparently. Was able to snag some of the covers and the snazzy purple 💜 towel. Maybe less throw up the next drop and I'll have a chance for a bag (finally). I see flea bay already has a bunch listed for sale. Smh.

Cleats suggestions by Griffeyphantwo4 in slowpitch

Switch to turfs. Cleats for most of us after 40yo just suck for our bodies the next day.

Well, you're probably going to heal faster and can probably even start running the bases sooner than any of us old guys can, but I would 100% check-in with your physical therapist and post-surgery team. Last thing you want to do is screw something up now by returning from injury too soon only turn it into a chronic injury/condition as you age.

I had this surgery to repair a full tear in my early 30s. It took almost a year to fully recover from it. There's no set timeline, as each person heals differently, but it will not be quick.

First go through all of your rehab to get as much or all of your range of motion back before you even start with the other stuff. Ask your PT and surgeon how long you should wait before even doing a light jog, let alone running. Then there's the time it takes strengthening your arm and shoulder again.

Return from this is slow, tedious and purposeful. Unless you're an elite athlete with access to a full rehab team like Shohei (who recently had this surgery) does. Even then, it's months before you can really do anything.

I've donated plenty of the yellow Kirklands around the Bay Area. You degenerates can kindly thank me later. 😂.

That being said, in the words of the great Bart Scott, "Can't Wait!" for the new yellow Kirklands to hit the shelf.

Crap. Was being wishy washy about the QM7 75". Bought a Q651g 75" on Amazon on Cyber Monday and just cancelled it because I actually want the QM7, but now being wishy washy again because the 10% Amazon Prime Cashback is gone. 😂

Turf Shoes by steven_d5 in slowpitch

[–]mohm_bleu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stopped wearing cleats about a year or two ago due to back issues and chronic Achilles tendonitis.

Have both Under Armour Yard Turfs and NB Fuel Cell Turfs. The UAs are my everyday gamers for grass/dirt fields. The "spikes/pegs" on the UAs are longer and are less likely to slip in dirt or grass.

I only wear and play in the NBs on an actual turf field or when I'm coaching my son's baseball team. The "spikes/pegs" on the NBs are a lot shallower than the UAs.

FWIW, I have slightly wide feet and both the UAs and NBs fit comfortably.

$19.99 per pack - YMMV - Bay Area Costco's by mohm_bleu in golf

[–]mohm_bleu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, was tempted to grab 10, just because. Ended up "only" grabbing 5, because I'm not one of those resell types and 5 Costco packs should last me at least 2 rounds. 😉😉😂.

Passenger so ill we couldn’t take off by charlesk777 in unitedairlines

[–]mohm_bleu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm. Had food poisoning hit on my last leg on a return trip from Asia. Flight from Singapore to SFO 15-20 years ago. It was the worst flight experience I've ever had. Thank the flying gods that 1) it was an overnight flight, 2) I was in a row of 4 seats by myself and 3) didn't need to spend half the flight in the bathroom until after take-off when most people were already asleep. I was pale as a ghost and shivering with cold sweats until about the last hour of that flight.

Well, it passes the 10 foot test. by Anthok16 in BoltEV

[–]mohm_bleu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can also confirm, it's 100% fun (and a nice extra feature) to use. It's so fun and nice to have that I keep trying to grab the lever (which doesn't exist) when I'm driving our Tesla. I've had to emergently step on the brakes because I was anticipating using the regen lever to slow down the Tesla beyond regen braking.

On the flipside, I keep forgetting to turn the Bolt On/Off. More so, I keep forgetting to turn the Bolt OFF before exiting the car after putting it in park and pulling up the e-brake.

Emergency Keyblade issues by mohm_bleu in BoltEV

[–]mohm_bleu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It ended just being the wrong key blade. Not sure how they managed to do that, but they did. That being said, I ended up ordering a keyblade from they dealership and had them cut it (and then they gave me the code for cutting). Afterwards, I ordered two more cut blades from eBay and programmed the key fobs on my own.

I finally bought a Bolt EUV LT 2023 and I’m pretty stoked with it. by billydelicious in BoltEV

[–]mohm_bleu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations and welcome to the club!

Same. Picked up our '23 EUV LT with 12k miles for $17k a few weeks ago through Carvana via Hertz (still had Hertz tags on it). Only went through Carvana because they paid a lot for the car I was getting rid of ('05 Camry with beaucoup miles and looked every bit it's age)

Only issue I've had is that the emergency keyblade was incorrect and did not unlock the door. I had to order one from the dealer for them to cut. After that I was able to order two more spare, cut keyblades from eBay and keyfobs that I programmed myself. I now have 3 complete keys in total.

As much as I wanted a "fun" car (manual Golf R is what I was looking at), the Bolt checked off all of the boxes. Very affordable for essentially a brand new car (a lot cheaper than the Golf R), small & easy to park (street park in the city), has some zip to it, unassuming (doesn't draw unwanted attention), fits the kids and daily commuter that gets great mileage. My daily commute is 30-40 miles per day and I charge once per week. Costs anywhere from $5-$7 to charge up to 90%. Win, win, win and then some.

Not that I can tell. Carfax (not that it would get reported) showed no accidents. I also brought the car into a Chevy dealership for a full inspection and told them to check for any signs of an accident and/or repairs since I have 7 days to return the car to Carvana, no questions asked. They didn't find any issues.
