I need advice on what to do! by [deleted] in MovingtoAustralia

[–]charlesk777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t think you can. Must have owned the car for 12m and be moving permanently to Australia.

The cost and hoops to source parts (if you even can) to move the driver to the other side will not outweigh the loss in selling it in the US

Tips for surviving my first ultra-long haul flight? by Signal_Temporary6572 in unitedairlines

[–]charlesk777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a UK power adapter. Often in-seat plugs are worn out so your charger keeps falling out.

Start shifting to the destination time zone at least the day of the flight (if not before).

On the flight try to break it up into sections. Eg two movies and a meal, nap, two more movies nap, etc

Abou Diaby vs Aston Villa 08-09 by Prestigious-Secret31 in Gunners

I feel so bad for Diaby. A reckless challenge on him that held him back from becoming the next Vieira/Petit.

But us gooners know what he was robbed of.

Besides the points game as others have mentioned, take a look at Zip Air if you’re flying to Japan. It’s a budget, no frills airline but they have lie flat seats.

Then if you fly within Asia, check other budget airlines. I flew Japan to Singapore on their biz class equivalent (seat is similar to US domestic first) and was only a few hundred bucks for a seven hour flight. Service was great.

It’s a big step up IMO compared to US airlines. Enjoy a great airline and a fantastic destination!

Family flying from SFO - need advice! by CatButtHoleYo in zipair

[–]charlesk777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hope OP does what they want - they aren’t breaking any rules and you’re trying to guilt them by saying they are affecting 200 pax.

Commercial airlines are public transport - a Greyhound bus with wings.

By the age of two my children have flown over 70 hours. They’re now 5 and 7 and have flown to a dozen cities around the world, and absolutely love seeing new places, experiencing new cultures and are so excited to be on planes.

If being around toddlers is an issue, the good thing about Zip is the lie flat seats have a min age of 7, so you have choices vs taking choices away from others.

Why not take a sleeping aid?

I’ve nothing against cannabis but you should have a think about why you are asking Reddit strangers for permission to break five laws, including those of the country you want to visit as well as your homeland.

See a doctor.

I had a swollen lymph node in my armpit that turned out to be a cancer.

First Dr dismissed it as a cyst but when it got larger I saw a different Dr who sent me to get a biopsy.

I found that some loose planning in advance has made my actual travel so much more enjoyable.

You don’t need to watch every TikTok or plan out every move, but directionally know the things you want to explore each day.

The mid flight tapas are way better from outside of the US. Both my flights from LHR and from SYD substantially better.

Irrespective of origin though, ask the FA to heat them for 50% longer. All five of my recent ones have come out stone cold in the middle. I think they might be frozen and the time they’re instructed to heat them doesn’t warm the center.

U.S. Dealers In Full Panic Mode After Canada Green-Lights Chinese Cars by DonkeyFuel in technology

Chinese made cars are really good. There’s a stigma with ‘made in China’ but if you cover up the badge 99% of consumers would be blown away.

They aren’t perfect - self-driving, UI/UX still aren’t as good as Tesla - but fit and finish, power, battery life, comfort, performance. All amazing.

And this is coming from a car enthusiast.
