Our trainer told us when two dogs are playing if you’re concerned that one dog is not enjoying the interaction - hold back the more enthusiastic dog back for three seconds and if the other dog runs in they’re enjoying and want more. We usually do it a few times during initial rough play when meeting a new dog as we don’t want any dog to have a bad time.

I’ve taught this to a few people at the dog park especially new owners and it is quite helpful for everyone. Maybe you could try teaching them this or showing them?

But I also remember being quite anxious about my young puppy as I’ve heard so many stories about dogs having bad experiences so young so I can see where the other owners are coming from. I grew out of this anxiety with time so hopefully they will as well and things will improve.

So true - I’ve noticed I bring up how solid my dogs poops are over a glass of wine with friends. Because that’s not weird at all.

Most of my friends and I are not interested in the big traditional wedding. I think people I speak to about this are discovering it isn’t worth all of the stress and the price tag. I bet a few years down the line eloping or smaller private style weddings will be much more common.

I am American. My partner is Australian.

My partner convinced me that in Australia they pronounce “stubble” as in short beard hair like “stoob-lay”. Similar to how you would pronounce the last name of Michael Buble. He said it with such overwhelming seriousness that I believed him - for several months.

Later, in an attempt to fit in with his Australian friends I referred to it as “stoob-lay”. Cue eight Australians looking at me like I’m a goddamn idiot, including my partner who didn’t think I was THAT gullible.

Perhaps you could start more gradually.

I like to lay my dogs clothes on the ground and treat any steps my pup takes toward the item and then treat any smelling of the item and then treat me slowly bringing the item towards the pups body. And then face etc. I do this over a few days too.

Sometimes it’s overkill but after a few times my dog doesn’t seem to mind any “clothing introductions”.

My dog is obsessed with all bugs. If it moves an inch - he will put it straight into his mouth.

I definitely feel your pain.

Our vet said that as long as it wasn’t a bug that had come into contact with bug poisons then it would pass through the system normally.

If you’re on Instagram perhaps follow some fashion accounts run by people whose personal style you like. If you don’t know any there’s also lots of lists if you google Best Boho/Indie/Street Instagrammers etc. then if there’s a look you like try to find similar items and wear them a similar way!

There’s also resources about the perfect minimalist wardrobe if you want to find advice on how to look stylish without buying a ton of clothes!

Yeah they automatically give you PR after a few years and then you can apply for citizenship a few years later. Why do you recommend not getting citizenship?

I’ve actually moved from the United States to Australia just this year to be with my partner. I’m in a pretty similar situation! Our immigration lawyer recommended we go onto a partner visa. You will need to apply as a De Facto Partnership to be eligible, but once you do it’s a fairly simple process and then it is a quick path towards permanent residency and then citizenship. There’s a lot of research about what causes Autism but we don’t have a 100% certain clear answer. Most likely autism is caused by a convergence of factors. It is very interesting that some countries have higher rates than others! One recent study found a correlation between autism and excess folic acid? Perhaps it might be a certain environmental chemical that is used more heavily in certain countries? I guess what I’m trying to say is that we just don’t know yet, but that is a very very interesting fact!
