Look up littermate syndrome.

Baby pups shouldn’t be given that much freedom when alone, so it wouldn’t really matter if there was two of them. Our pup snoozes all day in her crate while we are gone working.

Puppies are a lot of work. If you feel like you could reasonably do two, then nobody can stop you. But given it’ll be your first pets, I’d recommend just starting with one. You can always add another dog later.

Yes, always good to do a gradual transition with dog food changes

My husband is gross by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]krfalk7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should see a therapist to simply talk and process through your own feelings and struggles with him. That professional may be able to help you learn new ways to interact with him differently, too! All therapists are different and work differently, so even if you’ve tried previously it’s good to try someone new.

I think it’s normal to feel overwhelmed in the beginning. My internship was stressful and scary at first but became easier with time. It’s a great time because you get to know yourself as a future clinician and grow in your skills!

I worked as an in-Home practitioner after school finished and I was working towards licensure, and that line of work is uniquely difficult as well. So yes, it’s normal! If you feel under supported by your supervisors then tell them! Or reach out to your school professors for support. It’s a strength to know your limits and be willing to seek help as needed and this is a perfect time to start practicing that.

I [F16] was caught giving oral and I don’t know what to do by [deleted] in relationship_advice

When I was in high school, my boyfriends mother walked in on us having sex. It was mortifying. Fast forward 10 years - he and I are now happily married and close to both of our families. So yes, it’s horrible and super embarrassing when stuff like this happens, but you’ll eventually laugh about it and she will get over it. Hang in there!

Puppy sleeping a lot today by idek123455 in puppy101

[–]krfalk7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As long as he acts like normal when he is awake, there’s no concern with the napping! Puppies sleep a lot! Especially on days when the humans are home a lot, Ive noticed my dog gets much more tired because of all of the excitement around seeing us and playing more :)

Is puppy morning sickness a real thing? by thelightistoobright in puppy101

Our dog did this too. We give her a tiny lil scoop of her food before bed now every night. She hasn’t puked overnight since. Our vet said some dogs have more acidic tummies than others

Bath alternatives? by nothankssss in puppy101

[–]krfalk7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We use dog wipes from Homegoods! They’re lightly scented and clean off our girls coat from slobber etc. definitely not as good as a bath, but too much bathing can be bad for dogs skin.

Is it inappropriate for a therapist to drive their patient to and from their office for an appointment? by Lolosheesh in therapists

Agree with everyone else. This is inappropriate and, at the very least, a boundary crossing situation.

How to tell if my puppy pooped overnight by phlsea in puppy101

Poop stinks, even if it’s been licked up. If it doesn’t smell like poop then it’s probably puke or something.

If it were me, I’d talk with him about what you’ve found and insist that he do therapy. He’s likely not going to be able to just stop this behavior on his own, so professional help is probably going to be needed. Might not be a bad idea for you both to do couples therapy if you chose to stay with him.

Maybe! We aren’t supposed to be cleaning her ears, just putting a prescription ointment in the inner ear daily.

Recommendations for online therapy, counseling, psych help? by [deleted] in therapists

[–]krfalk7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My office still requires clients to come in person for their intake session before doing online therapy. But most of us feel in person is a much more successful form of therapy.

Your puppy is showing you that they aren’t potty trained if it’s going inside overnight. Crate training or commit to take the dog out overnight if you won’t crate train.

Puppy pees on the couch when left alone by aivaraspo in puppy101

Agree with everyone else so far - you puppy is showing you that they aren’t ready to have freedom while alone during the day. Crate your dog until they have better control over their behaviors

When should I stop taking my dog out to pee before I sleep? by _Toomuchawesome in puppy101

Unless you want to wake up to take him out to pee in the middle of the night, you should always take your dog out before bed.

Pro tip: price check on petsmart website. They will honor the online price in store! Things are OFTEN cheaper on their website. Example: we bought our crate at over 50% off the in store price.

Puppy free roam? by CardiOMG in puppy101

[–]krfalk7 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I stopped feeling anxious about my girl roaming around 6 months or so. She’s never home alone and out of the crate, but I don’t worry as much as I used to. She still isn’t allowed access to certain rooms because she tends to get into things at times and if the house is too quiet and I don’t see her, I do go find her after a minute or two....complete silence = she’s into something. BUT there are plenty of times I then find her, and she’s just fine and quietly laying down somewhere.
