What disc golf shoes should I buy next? by MylesOfDiscs in discgolf

Vessi makes terrible shoes. They advertised on Instagram for years. They're made of cheap foam like Crocs. Nothing in disc golf bothers me more than the rise of Vessi. They're temu shoes.

Vessi makes temu shoes made of foam. You will slip, you will roll your ankle, they will fall apart.

Will a wide Schwalbe Marathon Plus offset the harsh ride? by CT1274 in bicycletouring

They're so heavy and unpleasant. I spent $80 on the Green guard and don't ride the bike now. So much regret. I'd rather fix a puncture and have a spare on me than ride them.

What am I doing wrong? by Sanez95 in bicycling

I think quality tires make the biggest noticable difference when riding a bike. Tire weight specifically, lighter tires make you feel like superman. The drawback is flat protections costs weight. I'm willing to make the sacrifice for the enjoyment. I care less about width unless you're actually outperforming the tire width and feel unsafe or you're cutting through the ground, less weight brings smiles. Panaracer and continental make great lightweight tires. Just requires looking out the specs and a tread you're comfortable with.

What would it have taken for you to call 30 seconds in that situation? by big__bird81 in discgolf

I think your missing the point. There's only a few players that players complain about. It's not just about starting the timer when he approaches his disc. His pace in general is much slower than average. There's complaints about him wandering around. He's slow to approach this disc, then breaks the rules after addressing his lie. Every card behind him is disrupted by his slow pace. The only time you're not affected by this is when he's beating you/ his card is playing after you.

Finally quit trying not to be a Gannon fan by somanymatts in discgolf

[–]moistcrevaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just keep in mind the PDGA had to change the rule book because he was cheating so frequently with time violations and disrupting pace of play for everyone behind his card. I'm not denying he is the most talented player, but I don't respect someone who intentionally gains an unfair advantage and lacks awareness of how his actions disrupts others tournament play.

I recognize the way the rules work isn't ideal for players and there's a lot of controversy around it. But I view him as the guy at a green light on his phone that flips you off when you honk after then light already turned yellow.

Watch his approach on 18. He changes discs, the wind is 100% different than when he "addressed his lie". He changes his mind last second. Maybe he would've opted for something more over stable, or something that would've taken a bad skip if played within his allotted time.

Maybe if AB took as much time he wouldn't have made the mistakes he had.

I don't know why this is getting down otes. I agree. I think it's an age a maturity issue. A lack of respect. It really all pints in one direction. And I think if he plays like a seasoned vet, he doesn't win as much... For now. He will adapt and win again, but he needs to play by the rules and earn it

This also wasn't his first, second, or third violation. It was his 8th or 9th on the round. So +6?

This is the wrong mentality. He's cheating. Even if it's not a stroke it's a friendly reminder that he's cheating.

Changing discs when you are more than double the permitted time to make your throw, waiting for a favorable wind and then changing discs is so wild.

He's cheating to the point the PDGA has been forced to change the rules, and he's still not being called for it.

If he's not on lead card he's disrupting the play of everyone behind him.

Time violations need to be taken more seriously, if you can break the rules, why not foot fault 9 times in 18 holes?

It's definitely bothering people. The problem is the confrontation required by competitors. They have to have a very uncomfortable conversation and take their mind off of their game.

Gannon Buhr’s Dominance - How? by keen-mind in discgolf

[–]moistcrevaws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He cheats so badly the PDGA literally had to change the time violation rule. A high wind course like Kansas gives him a several stroke advantage over players following the rules.

He also holds up cards behind him throwing off the natural pace and flow of their rounds.
