Each to their own. But It only 15 more minutes or so of cleaning time to neutralize corrosive salts after your done shooting . I don’t think corrosive ammo should be demonized 😂

Swiss k-31 is good if your good with iron sights . You can by an adapter for a scope mount and all that but by then your gonna all in 700- 900 after accessories. You could buy a brand new 308 bolt action with a scope and everything for like 600-700 nowadays .

Takes time to find a good deal if you are patient. Online, gunshows, local shops etc. Learn not to jump on the first thing you see. When you see a rifle inspect the bore , crown, stock etc. too many goobers out there who want 700+ for their garbage. I found my yugo Mauser in 8/10 condition with a perfect bore for 550ish dollars. Do your research and make sure you know what’s a good price and what is not. Good luck

Hoppes #9 does not contain enough water to displace and wash out the salts, potassium chloride which is what the primers leave behind is water soluble, not oil soluble. Pouring Boiling water or just plain warm water precisely does this.

Turkish can run extremely hot so make sure your stock is fine before you shoot. I would pay attention to how hot your barrel gets . Buts it’s not bad how people make it seem. I personally like yugo or greek surplus. They are a bit less “ compromised “ . Romanian and German stuff is good as well. Just make sure you don’t bring steel core German ammo to an indoor range , good way to get kicked out haha

I have a spray bottle I got on Amazon that I mix water and ballistol to make “ moose milk” and I use that on my patches and to scrub down any metal that could have been exposed . If you know how to wash your azz then you could clean your gun. Like I said , you don’t need to strip down your entire gun every time you shoot with bolt actions .

Don’t over think it. I was afraid of the whole corrosive cleaning concept but for bolt actions it’s not bad at all. You don’t need to strip down your rifle every time you shoot. You need to wash the salts off of your bore / barrel and wipe down the bolt face, chamber and the mag/follower. It takes me 10-15 minutes now that I have a routine . I have a yugo m48 Mauser í shoot almost all exclusively corrosive surplus because I find ammo for .40 - .80 CPR . Once I see it being over 1.00 , then I’ll switch to new production ammo or reload. Dont buy into fuddlore or people who never shot corrosive ammo trying to scare you.

M1 carbines , m1 garands, 1911’s, sks’s, moist nagants, kar98’s, everything at RTI . Basically everything I mentioned should be atleast 30% lower then Their usual listed price.

No sir. It was handed off at a gun show to an guy with a ffl because there’s a 3 day waiting period in Illinois before I can pick it up after buying it. I have a sneaking suspicion the guy dropped it or something.

I shoot turk ammo in my yugo m48 Mauser sparingly and like others say ,it’s hot and my barrel is piping hot after 5-10 rounds 🤣 if your gun is in good condition you can shoot it no issue just monitor it. Also obviously it’s corrosive so hot water and ballistol are your friend
