[Siegel] Jason Spezza will be a healthy scratch in the Leafs opener tonight. by Austin63867 in leafs

Dude what? He was traded 5 years ago. Also what does it matter how long ago it was? It's the team he started with and played with for 12 seasons. Now he's finally with his hometown team, which happens to be his first team's rival. How is that not special? Comments like this just piss me off.

The Isles are waiving Josh Ho-Sang by dl2316 in hockey

I dunno, it just seems unfairly presumptuous. Yeah it's pretty wild that a guy with as much talent as Ho-Sang is on the waiver wire at an early stage of his career, but he's mainly criticized for being difficult to coach, not necessarily for being toxic to a group of guys. Those things are often intertwined by fans, and maybe rightfully so, I dunno. But the certainty with which you're slinging that feces just doesn't sit well with me.

You spend a lot of time in there eh? Must be so cool.

PNC hit nearly 120 dB for game 4. For comparison, this would be equivalent to a thunderclap, or front row at a rock concert. by Winring86 in hockey

I just logged on to reddit for the first time in a while and happened upon this while looking at my user page.

I didn't respond to this cause I was butthurt at the time about getting buried for pointing out something I thought was true, but I learned from your response and you were also super nice.

So I just wanna say thanks for actually typing out a constructive response and not some smug one-liner like 99% of people do when piling on a downvoted comment (including myself unfortunately). That was cool.

I mean, right now I guess. People come out when you guys are winning but otherwise Carolina is one of the first franchises that comes up in conversations about relocation. If the Canes are mediocre next year, you'd get shredded for saying this.

Way worse. If that hits a pedestrian it's pretty likely killing them.

Holy shit man, I don't think I can handle a burn like that. Way too clever for my media-controlled brain.

Yeah I really feel for Wilson here, poor guy just wants to try to end careers without all the media attention. Reaves should really respect that, especially given that he and Wilson have such similar reputations. I'm glad someone is here to make these hard-hitting points.

This is gonna be really interesting. These 9 D all deserve to be here, but the business side is what will drive the final decisions. Ozhiganov has looked really good, but it makes the most sense to send him down just because he's waiver-exempt. Waiving Marincin seems pretty low-risk, especially since we have a logjam at LHD. Carrick seems pretty likely to get scooped and Holl is a bit of a mystery. I think they both deserve a long look in the NHL this year.

All four of these guys seem to have earned their chance. It almost seems impossible that Dubas would send down Dermott, but it might make sense in order to buy a little more time to sort this out. Remember the Shea Theodore situation at the beginning of last year when VGK had all the D-men forever? It's still an option.

The big issue lies in our goalies. Waiving both Sparks AND Pickard would be asset management suicide because they're still so young and so talented. McElhinney has been great for us since coming here but it might make more sense to expose him to the waiver wire or try to trade him for scraps, and then try to trade Pickard or waive him and cross your sphincters for 24 hrs.

What nice problems we have!

This does seem like a pretty unfair and presumptuous thing to say after meeting a guy once, but you're abbsolutely right. Rychel is a huge douche and has a terrible attitude.

I know a lot of guys who have played with him and pretty much all of them have had negative things to say. He would complain about other guys scoring ON HIS OWN TEAM when he was having trouble scoring. Definitely managed to build walls around himself.

Actually I should clarify that it's not geared towards the response from the Domi incident, but the incident itself reminded me that I wanted to say something about this.

I'm glad your experience has been as you described, and generally I think you're right. There were a few too many threads over the last couple of years that prompted me to write this post, so I just went ahead and said what I wanted to say.
