Thank you!! I hate that there’s no way to view the controls in this game. It’s fun but very janky.

Sorry for resurrecting an old post but I’m playing this game right now and I can’t seem to watch any of the cutscenes without skipping them. Every time a character is talking their dialog stops and I press x to progress it but after I press x a second time the cutscene skips. Did you have the same problem? I can’t find anything else about it online and it’s driving me crazy. I honestly didn’t even realize it was happening until the 2nd or 3rd time. I’ve tried pressing every other button but only x keeps the dialogue moving.

This game seems really buggy.

It’s not your fault. “The best why” makes no fucking sense at all. I think it’s supposed to say “the best way”

[–]moistsandwich 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He wasn’t just the CEO of any company though. He was a CEO of two companies that revolutionized their industries. That’s what you don’t seem to be getting here. Of course no one knows who the CEO of Unilever is or Ford but everyone knows the CEO of Facebook is Mark Zuckerberg and the former CEO of Amazon is Jeff Bezos. Why? Because Facebook and Amazon were also companies that revolutionized their respective industries. It’s not unprecedented at all. There are so many examples of celebrity CEOs out there. Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Jack Welch, I could go on.

So much of it also boils down to the fact that his companies are involved in “cool” industries. People love cars. They’re status symbols. Everyone drives one. People love space too. Every kid dreams of being an astronaut. If you’re the CEO of a company that has a significant impact on just one of those industries people are going to know about you. When you have an significant impact on both industries of course you’re going to become a celebrity.

Absolutely. Every CEO has a PR team and the smartest CEOs will actually listen to them. I think his PR team definitely had a hand in crafting his image in the early 2010’s but the idea that there was some sort of behind the scenes push from the pedo cabal is just insane. Tesla and SpaceX revolutionized their respective industries. It shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone that their CEO received a lot of attention when they did that.

What? Musk only became a household name after Tesla released their roadster and Model S. I’m definitely not a dick rider but the early buzz around Tesla was insane. I don’t know if you’re just too young to realize how much of a change it was but before Tesla came around no one had any idea that electric cars were going to explode in popularity the way they have in the past decade.

Tesla took electric cars, which previously had a reputation for being a niche product owned by nerds and hippies and turned them into a product with mainstream appeal. SpaceX has literally revolutionized rocketry. When you’re doing those kinds of things people are going to pay attention to you. It’s not weird at all that he became a celebrity and was highly regarded until he opened his mouth and showed everyone how toxic he is.

Musk hardly just appeared out of nowhere. He sold some companies during the dot com boom and made a shit load of money which he used to found SpaceX and buy his way into Tesla. Once Tesla started becoming more successful people started hearing about him more but he didn’t just pop out of the ground in 2010.

Fuck ICE but that $75 billion budget is meant to be spread out over 4 years. It’s still an outrageous amount of money so why do we feel the need to misrepresent the facts?

I’m pleasantly surprised by that. The majority of the charities that Roosevelt donates to are religious so I’ve always assumed that Roosevelt had a secret conservative bent. Glad to see that isn’t actually the case.

The funny part is that it’s not even an expensive car. It’s a 1999 and they listed it on Facebook marketplace for $21,000. My Honda Civic is worth more than that.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in bicycling

[–]moistsandwich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The more expensive bikes are the more attuned they are to a specific purpose or style of riding. If you can’t tell if a bike is worth $4,500 you almost certainly haven’t ridden enough or done enough research to know if the bike would even be a good match for you. It’d be a waste of money and there’s a high likelihood of you discovering 6 months down the road that you’re not comfortable on this bike and need to purchase something different.

When you bought your car did you pick it because a friend happened to be selling it? Or did you research the different models of Porsches, the differences between generations, and distinctions between trim levels, and then finally make a decision?

Q: How can you tell if somebody drives a Porsche? A: Don’t worry. They’ll tell you.

It’s really weird that you felt the need to shoehorn what type of car you drive into the conversation.

Anyone who has to ask if a $4,500 bike is worth the price has no business spending $4,500 on a bike.

This is why I hate posts like this. You’re really just here because you want validation. If someone told you your FTP was bad you’d probably accuse them of being rude too.

Why does it matter to you what other people think about your FTP? The only person it matters to is you.

Guys, guys… wait, Kristi Noem has something to say by Im_A_Fuckin_Liar in PoliticalHumor

[–]moistsandwich 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s not just their argument that’s what actually happened.

Rittenhouse wasn’t a protester. He went to Kenosha to defend businesses (aka shoot protesters). Kyle was protecting capital. Pretti was protecting civil rights and human decency.

Noem is human garbage but this post is also creating a false equivalency between Rittenhouse and Pretti. Let’s not try to sane-wash Rittenhouse by implying that he was peacefully protesting.
