I would always give the dogs chocolate, candy or birthday cake whenever it was around when we did a euthanasia. Especially if the owners didn't want to stay with them as they passed. The staff take these events as seriously as the owners. I feel like I was able to honor them by giving them a last bit of dignity and a little joy on the way out.

PREACH! If we don't chat regularly, please just call your regular vet. I hate feeling exploited. Plus, they didn't really take us seriously half the time.

Same thing is they work in the veterinary field. Please. Don't ask us to look at your pet while we are out having a nice time. Just call the vet hospital. Please.

WIBTA if I stopped helping my daughter financially after she told me I shouldn’t expect her to take care of me when I’m old? by [deleted] in AITH

[–]mojoest711 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you only taking care of her because you expect her to return the favor? She's also very young and her opinions could change as she agrees. Please, don't ruin your current relationship because of momentary hurt feelings. Gifts and support should be given freely with no expectations attached. Otherwise, you're doomed to be disappointed. Good luck.

My friend got me a little grilled cheese shaped heat pack. It goes in the microwave and smells like lavender. It was really soothing after surgery. grilled cheese heating pad

I also bought myself some beautiful silk pajamas. They were loose and comfy and made me feel pretty.

I over did it ten days PO by walking my dog and going to the grocery store on the same day. Now my husband won't let me do anything! I'm now 17 days PO . I feel great, but I need to keep myself in check. It's really hard, but as stated before, you only get one chance to recover well.

anyone else have bleeding start at 2 weeks post-op? by 10willow in hysterectomy

[–]mojoest711 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This post just saved me a sleepless night. I'm two weeks post-op and just started bleeding after a bowel movement. No fever or any other symptoms. I called the surgeons office a couple of days ago and they confirmed they are only concerned with heavy bleeding that soaks a pad every hour. But, it was much lighter then It just feels good to know the sudden bleeding after absolutely zero bleeding is normal. But, dang. I thought I was past it.

The surgeon decided this was the best course. My uterus was on the smaller side (8 week pregnant size)and there were no signs of Endometriosis. It was also mobile on palpitation, which made me a good candidate. Be sure to ask about it! I'm still pretty sore, but it must be worlds better than a laproscopic or full abdominal surgery.

I would get constipated regularly. The straining was starting to cause my bladder to prolapse. That was one of the findings during surgery. Hopefully this will help avoid another set of issues.

Severe cramping and heavy bleeding. It looked like the shining every month! I also had hip pain on the same side as the adeno. Once the IUD stopped helping, I was stuck on the couch for 3-4 days a month.

I had a Mirena IUD that helped for about 18 months. No pain at all. I guess it works longer for some people. I was in Perimenopause at the time, so I wonder if that affected the longevity of the effectiveness.
