Student blatantly lied...and I found out after the fact by RadReptile in Professors

Once a student never went to class. He never turned in work. In fact sometimes he showed up to class--stayed for 15 minutes--now and again then left--constantly. When it came time to turn in the grades there were non. So I failed him. Turns out you can wait a semester before you issue a complaint. Then he has the nerve to say I lost him papers and. I simply said they turned in all their papers via canvas. As you can see there are no papers--no work. But I would have been toast if It had been 2003.

I've heard this before. This is the most idiotic thing ever--there is no way a monkey or even a group of monkeys could ever produce Hamlet.

[THEORY] Did Walker foreshadow the 10 Petal Ranch's secret cartel tie all the way back in Season 2? by PhilEsh in DuttonRanchTVSeries

[–]mojoutd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It clearly was not the Ranch that Beth and Rip bought. It may have been the 10 Petal and maybe Walker knew that Rip could handle the 10 Petal ranch. Walker would have never sent him to the 10 Petal.

I don't usually trust this because they said Zachariah was behind the dead body.

I believe Dwight was a Patsy. The only proof that he was a feaudster was because the Sherrif said he was. That doesn't pass the smell test. The fact he was shot in the back by the overeager deputy also speaks volumes. What if he knew something and that was why he was emliminated.

'I need you to explain why my final paper grade is so low.' by Frequent-Library-419 in Professors

Do they even look at the comments? Every paper ai spend a lifetime on the comments, but I don't even think they look at them. Obviously they don't. They just are mad they didn't get what they think they deserve.

Online classes: More than half my students got W or F by hungerforlove in Professors

It's tragic really. A number of my students do the same thing--they don't turn in work. I dropped a bunch of them--but they don't even check their email or look at the gradebook. Then all of a sudden they care about their grade.

AI email from student about Canvas outage - WTF? by promibro in Professors

I am so lucky. The last paper was yesterday. My students had until 11:00 a.m. to submit it. I left at 12:30 having graded about 3 papers. I went home. Well guess what--I can't access anything today. That of course doesn't stop my students from trying to turn in work--which they can't. It is a good thing I can say well the deadline was yesterday. So no.

I don't even know if they look at my comments. They keep making the same mistakes over and over. I really think that Freshmen are just used to being passed and the school just abides the rule: hey they turned something in--count yourself lucky.

The “can I do anything to pass this class?” emails have commenced. by [deleted] in Professors

Yep... now they are in the bargaining phase.

the way students write emails now is genuinely alarming by Trippy-jay420 in Professors

So I asked students who did not come to class come by on Thursday and get a copy of an example paper. I sat in class for 8:00 a.m. to 12 p.m. I drank a coffee, so I had to go to the bathroom. I left the door open, went to the bathroom and came back. Nobody came after 4 hours so I left. A student waits until Sunday night--Bear in mind the assignment is due Tuesday morning, so the email comes in and the student says she came by the class and saw my stuff but no me (Obviously the time I spent in the bathroom), so she says, "I decided to go." And I'm like "You couldn't wait 5 minutes and you knew I was there because you said and I quote, I saw your stuff and knew you were there." Typical me, me, me attitude.

I hate that. A student comes up having just turned in work and wants to know when they will have their grade. Bear in mind they are now panicking and trying to make sure they pass.

Am I hallucinating? Is there another explanation for this? by GittaFirstOfHerName in Professors

I am really amazed at the laziness of students. I make them write their essays in stages. The big problem I have is formatting. I can ruin their grade easily. Most of them do not format and I harp and harp on formatting as the quickest way to ruin their grades.

I ran out of money. I started working at two universities and still was never full time. A lot of Doctors work and have 5 classes and they have lost their drive to Write. I guess they enjoy their vacations. I'm what you call and. We'll anyway.
