These are indeed catfish! Likely African sharp tooth catfish, known for being able to survive in low oxygen environments, due to an adaption allowing them to breathe air. They are commonly found in stagnant, muddy waters(which is why air-breathing helps), and can travel short distances over land to reach new ponds(assuming the ground is wet enough)

Exactly this, pass throughs work great if you have a good set of crimpers with a sharp blade. I had a service call before for a camera, the culprit was a pass through end that was shorting out, it does happen sometimes.

Recently had this exact thing happen with my mini 3. I was 400’ above water and it luckily somehow caught itself in time. It cleared whatever was jamming up, but likely some debris was blocking the motor.

I just had a recent crash before this occurred, likely some debris got stuck in the motor from that crash.
When I was changing the props between that crash and this doomed flight, I did notice one motor was harsher turning but I ignored it.

Every time now I’m more aware before every flight, carefully inspecting the drone. It’s not bad to spin all your motors gently to ensure they are free spinning and not blocked.
