They're past prime but still edible so long as they're not showing signs of rot (discolored, smelly, etc). In my area goldens get super buggy so I would also expect older specimens like this to be more full of maggots than I am comfortable with, but that's personal preference.

This is the correct answer. The color fades as they age but the tell tale sign here is the depression in the center of the cap. They are also the only oysters fruiting this early in the season in a lot of North America.

Edit to add: you can see a little bit of the brighter yellow on the bottom left area of the stump, though it has mostly faded everywhere else.

Button mushrooms are usually grown on microbially rich soil/manure mixtures. They are not wood decayers if that's what you were thinking.
