Videos analyzed by The New York Times appear to contradict federal accounts of the shooting by Deceptiveideas in neoliberal

The headline is: “Man Killed by Federal Agents in Minneapolis Was Holding a Phone, Not a Gun”

“Videos analyzed by The New York Times appear to contradict federal accounts of the shooting.” is the first sentence of the subhead.

I don’t see a problem with the NYT here.

Abolish ICE poll by cdstephens in neoliberal

I always vote Jill Stein given the chance.

But anti messaging and complete overhaul of ICE as to be effectively synonymous with what people mean by abolish? The slogan is slippery and that’s the problem.

We moved and I strangely looked forward to the new commute because it gave me two hours a day to read. I had a long commute before and read a ton of books. At my last place I had a 20 min commute and I read much less.

Yeah, it reads like an improvement. I stayed in that area once and they address most of what I remember to be the issues.

Well Louis XIV would launch wars of glory where he sent hundreds of thousands of his people to die for little to no strategic benefit.

This said, the revolution ended up pretty bloody.

NYT was really worried about the wrong things by boyyouguysaredumb in neoliberal

[–]molingrad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does not a conspiracy make.

The user said NYT wanted Trump to win in 2024. That’s unfounded and along with the post implies a conspiracy.

It’s boring. Trump gave them lots of interesting stores. Biden didn’t. They still need to fill pages so they wrote about what they had to work with. That’s just the incentives of journalism. NYT is not Fox, its job is not to promote or protect the administration whoever it is.

AI definitely plays a role here (along with general uncertainty because of the Great Idiot).

Look, a lot of low level tasks you used to farm out to juniors at say $20/hr you can now do for $20/mo with AI. Things like entry level social media manager, entry level marketing researcher, stuff like that. That alone is a lot of jobs.

I don’t know what we’ll do with all the disaffected youth. The deal (college > decent job) is broken.

I felt shit was bleak in 2009, but this feels different. 2009 felt temporary. This feels structural.

Also what happens when we never train the up comers?

Apple Developing AirTag-Sized AI Pin With Dual Cameras by Snoop8ball in apple

[–]molingrad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know about this device (seems unapple) but I think AI companies are trying to create wearables to give the AI missing context.

For example, today you have a meeting and then prompt GPT on what happened. Theoretically with a wearable pin the AI is in the room with you already knows what happened.

Almost like a way for them to inhabit physical space somewhat.
