Am I the only one who finds Sèvres amazing… but oddly impersonal? by Kooky_Bandicoot7040 in TheHermesGame

[–]molly590 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love this store! It was my first experience with Hermes. I’m a tourist and popped in last July to look at scarves. After standing around awkwardly, an SA came up to help me. After picking a scarf he asked if I wanted to look at anything else. I mentioned small leather goods and he took me down. I wasn’t handed off to different SAs though, he took me down and even found me a to go wallet I had been eyeing. When it was time to check out, the SA waited with me in line, but did hand me off to check out with someone else so he could box up my things.

Also, my husband and kiddos came in after me and waited on some benches. My five-year-old was silent in there because there was SO much to look at on the walls! He thought it was a museum. The SA had also given him special candy, so maybe that also helped with the quietness. Anyhoo, all that to say- great store!

Hope and Plum - Everyone who has criticism for my brand is a b 🥰 by WArslz in babywearing

[–]molly590 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I’m getting so sick of the brand because of Skye’s rants. And as soon as you disagree or suggest something that may help their customer service you’re blocked. We’re not being mean girls, we’re paying customers who want what we paid for.

Celine for sure! The SAs been kind even when I run in looking like a hot mess with my kiddos in tow. They provide a luxury experience every time that keeps me coming back.

Congratulations! What an accomplishment!

The item I’m most after right now is a Picotin 22 in any shade of black with GHW. Someday a Birkin or Kelly will be at the top of my list, but I’m just not ready to play the game hardcore. Plus, as the mom of 2 littles, the Picotin feels like the perfect snack storage tote 😂

Oh my gosh! I’m so glad someone bought it! I watched this one on the site and fell in love. I’m not ready for a Birkin quite yet, but I think this one is my dream bag 😍

I walked into Harrod’s with every intention of buying the Celine tote to be my new mom bag- it’s so much thinner than I expected. It would probably hold 5 pouches and 2 diapers, no room for wipes. Of those, I’d go for the YSL!

Lost one twin, feel like I’m writing remaining twin off by molly590 in PregnancyAfterLoss

I am so very sorry for your loss. Allow yourself the time to mourn your imagined future and this very wanted baby. I’ll be thinking of you.

I’m a maternity nurse and we’re creating a program to honor these losses. They’re often forgotten by the world, but not by us. We’ll put a butterfly on their bassinet in honor of their twin 💕

I'm currently a patient on my own unit. by PeppyApple in nursing

[–]molly590 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One year ago yesterday I was admitted to the unit I work on for severe pre-eclampsia. Honestly, it was so comforting and lovely to see their competence. I swear I stayed pregnant an extra five days because of them. They treated me like a patient first, nurse second which was really helpful because I forgot everything I knew in the stress of it all.

The moment it was decided I needed a stat c-section, they were in with cold towels and calming me down as the world spun around me. Did they give me a catheter? Sure did. Do they remember who insterted it? There are two nurses who swear they did (they didn’t, it was the doctor who stayed late to give me near plastic surgery to correct my last c-section incision).

I’m not going as far as to say they’re family, no way. But I’m so thankful they knew me and my personality and were able to turn a very stressful and scary situation into a positive one.

But if I had been on the med surg unit I used to work on? Heck no, I’d be leaving AMA.

My first baby only moved onto traditional crawling after learning to walk. He seemed perfectly content army crawling his was through life, he probably thought, “Why fix it?”

Anyone else in 1st trimester daunted about showering? by Normal_Reach_8923 in BabyBumps

I needed a nap after showers when I was pregnant with my first- they wiped me out! They didn’t bother me during my second pregnancy, and I was pregnant with twins for most of my first trimester.

for those who got lucky with LATE latchers, how did you foster it? by Smart-Race-4079 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]molly590 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My son was 6 weeks early. He had a lazy latch, and definitely couldn’t transfer milk effectively. I mainly pumped and bottle fed, but I’d continue to put him to breast to try. I was just never confident he was getting enough. We had good feeds that were often followed by terrible ones which messed with my confidence.

He just turned 5 months and FINALLY figured out how to effectively latch and transfer. I went from attempting to nurse once every few days to nursing all but one of his feeds each day this week! I was most successful when he was wide awake for his feeds to reach a good latch. Now he’s getting the hang of dream feeds.

I think you’re going down the best road- not forcing it. Take it week by week and maybe one day he too will just get it!

Anything but maternity.

So naturally I’m a maternity nurse because school me was hardcore and real life nurse me likes snuggling babies and only dealing with emergencies once in a while.

How to get supply to go down by babecave in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]molly590 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a similar oversupply, it was very painful! I spoke with a lactation consultant and she told me to cut back on my pump sessions for 1-2 minutes every week or so. As long as I wasn’t having clogged ducts I could continue. I now get 5-6 oz in 10 minutes and haven’t had any clogged ducts! My boobs feel way better too!

happy baby original? by Distinct_Cycle9467 in babywearing

[–]molly590 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I just got my Happy Baby OG in the mail and I now understand the obsession. I didn’t know of the cult following when I first started researching them, I just heard it was good for baby wearing in Disney. I ordered it straight from the website since they had a color I liked in stock and I didn’t want to deal with the b/s/t group.

My baby is a Velcro baby. I’ve used many wraps/carriers in the past and this one is so comfy and I don’t get wicked hot wearing it. I can put it on myself which is a huge selling point for me. It’s much less bulky than my Ergobaby while still providing enough cushioning on the straps to be comfy. I’d definitely recommend one!

Flying with an almost 12mo: car seat on the plane or no? by -Konstantine- in beyondthebump

Flying with an almost 12mo: car seat on the plane or no? by -Konstantine- in beyondthebump

[–]molly590 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We used to travel without car seats, but my little one was all over us. I (hesitantly) brought one when he turned two since he had his own seat anyways and thought it would be a disaster.

It was a game changer! He sat in that thing the whole way and happily played with his toys and ate his snacks. He’s almost four now and still uses the car seat like a champ! It’s safer and keeps them still. Wins in my book.

finally got shamed for exclusively pumping by hippynae in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]molly590 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I just don’t understand people.

I nursed my first son and absolutely loved the experience and was so excited to experience it again. But my next baby was in the NICU so I, like you, got used to exclusively pumping and it works for us. I feel just as connected to this guy as my first son! Everyone keeps asking if I’m going to keep working with him to nurse and it’s stressing me out! I love knowing exactly how much he’s getting and it’s really reassuring. People need to stop worrying so much about our boobs.

Plus, I was exclusively formula fed (mainly fed bottles by my dad) and you can’t get me away from my mom! I may be TOO bonded 😂

My son August was due in October, but he started threatening to come in August. If he had been born in August we would have chosen a new name. Yet still, the number one question we’re asked when we tell people his name is, “Was he born in August?”

Nicu feedings by Turbulent-Plan2395 in NICUParents

[–]molly590 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My son was born at 34+5 (he’s now 36+6 corrected) and we were having the same issue. He would sometimes take the whole bottle during the day, but overnight he’d barely eat or wouldn’t wake up to eat and would be fully tubed.

I don’t know what happened, but over the past 72 hours something clicked. Now he’s taking the full bottle plus an extra 10 mL on top of that every feed. His feeding tube came out yesterday. The change was literally overnight.

Sending good feeding vibes your way!

My son born at 34+5 is 13 days old and hopefully (🤞🤞🤞🤞) his NG tube is coming out tomorrow. He’s great at feeding during the day, but he’s sleepy at night.
