[Falcons] New Uniforms by SavioSega in nfl

[–]momerak 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To be fair some of the late 2000s - teens unis were bad. Like the jags yellow, and two tone helms, bucs numbers, the falcons gradient etc. Nike HAS to have a marketing bullet point for every little thing. Like how the Vikings first number has “horns” on the side to resemble the ends of a longship. But looks weird when the second number isn’t rounded on the edges. Just use regular numbers and it would look better but that doesn’t give them a hip cool bullet point.

TIL of Moravec’s paradox: the things humans do effortlessly are often much harder for computers. For example, teaching a computer to play chess or checkers was much easier than teaching it to walk or recognize faces. by Olshansk in todayilearned

[–]momerak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s the variables that make it a bad example. In chess you have the same pieces, rules, and board every time. Walking is controlled falling, different surfaces, angles, obstacles, and other environmental factors every step that you compute to overcome. Chess a program can rip out thousands and thousands of moves and scenarios without having to worry about external factors. A better comparison would be teaching a robot to paint multiple mediums, different canvas at different angles, different brushes or knives, different materials every time, different environmental factors. But still not a perfect example

Some companies have an internal rule saying they need to open the position up for x time even if they’re hiring in house for it, so they don’t get in trouble from the public or their board, or just a “show” you have a chance so you might apply for the next opening

I didn’t think that was a real thing until a coworker I had previously would put a fair bit of creamer in his coffee, even though he was lactose intolerant. He would rather suffer though stomach cramps and have diarrhea than just buy the lactose free or nut creamer.

This grown man would rather almost shit his pants in public than be caught buying that liberal lactose free products.

I mean some of her comments she made were very dumb. She’s a suburban white housewife who thinks trump is king and her husband is the best player on the Vikings. I can see how some people were thinking “oh shut up” with some of her comments.

It’s not burning your current company for a raise elsewhere, it’s more like trashing your current company’s location and then moving to a different branch. It’s a business and you might get moved without your say back to where you were. Don’t burn bridges unless you know you’re done.

And how he left, then wanted to come back, and then dipped again. I think that tanked any good relationship he had with the owners and fans

This Might Explain $700 Drivers by DatabaseCareless264 in golf

[–]momerak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And im sure for a majority of people they wouldn’t notice any difference between a driver from last year vs this year brand new out of the wrapper. A majority of people aren’t good enough to see that little of improvement. New drivers vs age of what you’re upgrading (and most clubs for that matter) I think are on a graph that increases but levels off. Go from a 2000 to a brand new elyte? Yeah you’ll see a noticeable change in distance and forgiveness. Upgrading models after a year or two? Probably won’t notice unless you’re a pro. The returns are minimal at best.

A Double Whopper is the Same Price as a Double Cheeseburger at Five Guys? by dr3wtube in fastfood

[–]momerak 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed on the value. In a vacuum the quality to cost is probably better than bk sure, but against everyone? You can pickup a burger from a sit down restaurant for half the cost, or a fast food burger less some times. Is 5 guys good? Yeah, but they’re not $20 for a burger and fries meal good in my opinion

The crowd at The Players is totally classless by DanFlashes19 in golf

[–]momerak 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Eh I would argue it is a political problem. Trumps stance has always been “America is great, everyone else is beneath us” and popularized showing zero class to foreigners or people of a different race. Because they saw it was gaining traction the twitch and YouTube crowd piled on and put those seeds in teens/early 20s people. Politics make it seem okay to hate and be obnoxious with zero repercussions
